WATCH: Joe Biden gives Trump new moniker in first event with Kamala Harris since dropping out of race
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND: Kamala Harris showered Joe Biden with compliments on Thursday, August 15, in their first joint public appearance since he withdrew as the Democratic presidential nominee. The 81-year-old also paid it forward by giving Donald Trump a nickname and hinting that he missed the campaign road.
Nevertheless, a large portion of the audience was not present to hear it as dozens of individuals left as Biden was speaking. Many of Harris' sorority sisters were in the throng and it was obvious that they were excited to see her. The vice president introduced Biden following her speech and hugged him, at which point the audience began to depart.
Kamala Harris herself even departed the stage for Joe Biden's speech
Kamala Harris even left the stage during Joe Biden's address, but she returned for the customary picture of the two of them holding hands and raising their arms in triumph at the conclusion.
The gathering was advertised as an official White House event, but with Biden and several other speakers referring to Harris as the next president, it had the feel of a campaign rally. Conservative contender Donald Trump was even the target of potshots.
Joe Biden's new nickname for Donald Trump
Ironically, Donald Trump, who is well-known for calling his political opponents by different names, received a test of his own medicine from the person he dubbed 'Sleepy' Joe. "The guy we're running against, what's his name? Donald Dump? Donald... whatever," Biden said as the crowd erupted, reports Daily Mail. He said Harris will make "one hell of a president."

Kamala Harris sings sycophancy for Joe Biden
Throughout her remarks, Kamala Harris remained focused on the Democratic ticket member she was replacing. "I could speak all afternoon about the person I am standing on this stage with," she said as the crowd roared. "Our extraordinary Joe Biden," she added. The crowd roared and yelled "let's go Joe" and "thank you Joe." "There's a lot of love in this room for our president," she noted.
Harris reiterated her statement that it was "my great, great, great honor to serve with this most extraordinary human being" as she turned over the microphone.

Biden was equally complimentary. "I have an incredible partner in the progress we've made and she's going to make one hell of a president," he said. The crowd in the "blue state of Maryland" embraced the love fest. The ceremony was made more convivial by the introduction of the two by the well-liked governor of the state, Wes Moore.
The room roared as Biden and Harris hugged. And the cheers continued as they worked the stage at the end of their remarks. The approximate number of attendees, according to the White House, was 2,300.
