WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris made multiple attempts to support and uphold President Joe Biden's mental acuity in the months preceding his appalling debate performance.

Harris was frequently questioned about Biden's mental state, starting in the fall of 2023, due to the 81-year-old president's repeated remarks at public gatherings that raised doubts about his suitability in the lead-up to the election.

Kamala Harris defended Joe Biden's growing age last year

Kamala Harris suggested that "what’s on his birth certificate in terms of his age" is not "the measure of the man," when asked about Joe Biden's age in a November 2023 Sirius XM interview.

"Let’s not get distracted. Let’s look at whether we have a president that’s actually produced, and followed through on his commitments and especially on long-standing issues that needed to be addressed," Harris said. "Joe Biden has done that. That’s the measure of the man. Not what’s on his birth certificate in terms of his age."

Kamala Harris says 'age is more than a chronological fact'

Kamala Harris was questioned once more about whether Joe Biden's age is a concern in 2023 after several embarrassing incidents, such as the president falling at the Air Force Academy commencement ceremony in June, calling the Grand Canyon one of the "nine" wonders of the world in August, and claiming to have been at ground zero in September after 9/11, even though records showed he was in Washington, DC.

"I would say that age is more than a chronological fact," Harris said in an interview for the New York Times' Dealbook Summit in November 2023, adding that he is "absolutely authoritative" during his meetings.

Kamala Harris said the question of Joe Biden's age should be put to rest

The vice president, who is being floated as the leading replacement for Joe Biden should he be replaced as the nominee, said in January that "we've got to get beyond" the question of the president's age.

"So this whole issue that they are raising about his age is, again, because they've got nothing to run on," Harris said during a one-on-one with Katie Couric during her podcast, 'Next Question with Katie Couric', on iHeartRadio.

"And I just think that we've got to get beyond this, because I think ultimately, what the American people deserve is that their leaders perform by way of solutions and uplifting the condition of their lives," she added.

Kamala Harris on Joe Biden's fitness for office

Later, ABC News questioned Kamala Harris, 59, regarding doubts about Joe Biden's suitability for the position.

"I'll tell you, the reality of it is, and I've spent a lot of time with Biden, be it in the Oval Office, in the Situation Room and other places – he is extraordinarily smart. He has the ability to see around the corner in terms of what might be the challenges we face as a nation or globally," Harris told the outlet in January.

Kamala Harris defended Joe Biden when Robert Hur termed him 'elderly man with a poor memory'

Kamala Harris jumped to Joe Biden's defense, claiming that Special Counsel Robert Hur's description of him as a "sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory" in a report looking into his handling of classified documents was untrue.

"So, the way that the president's demeanor in that report was characterized could not be more wrong on the facts and clearly politically motivated, gratuitous," Harris said of the report at a Gathering of Community Violence Intervention Leaders in February.

Kamala Harris also shielded Joe Biden following his disastrous debate performance

Kamala Harris then went on CNN a few minutes after the June 27th debate ended to defend the president's performance, which was already sending the Democratic Party into a frenzy.

The vice president tried to turn the tables on former President Donald Trump when she was questioned about his debate performance in the post-debate interview, claiming that although the president had a "slow start," it shouldn't be compared to Biden's three-and-a-half years of "performance" as president.

"Last night, President Joe Biden and Donald Trump had their first debate, and earlier today the president said himself it was not his best performance," Harris told voters in Las Vegas after the debate. "This race will not be decided by one night in June."

Internet slams Kamala Harris for 'lying for years'

Netizens lambasted the US vice president for defending Joe Biden time and again despite the latter's incompetence in serving his country for another four years.

One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "She’s been lying for years."

Another added, "She like Jill knew the Truth and tried to brainwash American ppl with it. National TV debate Exposed what so many knew, it just Confirmed it."

"She is also to blame for open borders," remarked one.

Someone else wrote, "AFTER DEBATE WHAT SHE SAY BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA."
