WASHINGTON, DC: Former Vice President Kamala Harris posted a video on TikTok on Thursday, July 31, stating that she has not been relaxing and drinking since restricting her public appearances after losing the presidential election last November.

The former VP's TikTok post appeared to be an attempt at the "Who Said That" trend on the platform, where users turn their faces away from the camera to obscure their mouths while making bold statements.

Kamala Harris could be seen in the viral clip, facing away from the camera, saying, "Everyone thinks you’ve been kicking back, drinking margaritas on the beach, but really you’ve been hard at work writing a book, meeting with leaders, thinking about the future of our country."

However, her mouth was visible throughout the video, as she failed to cover it with her hand. She used the clip to promote her upcoming book and claimed she had been working hard rather than lounging.

She jokingly asked, "Who said that?" while turning back toward the camera.

Additionally, on Wednesday, July 30, Harris announced in a statement that she would not seek the governorship in California, following reports that she had been considering a run for governor or a 2028 presidential bid.

She added that she was excited about working to "help elect Democrats" across the country and would be "sharing more details in the months ahead" regarding her future plans.

Harris was selected as the 2024 Democratic presidential candidate after former President Joe Biden withdrew from the race.

However, she lost the popular vote and all seven swing states to President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, the former vice president announced on Thursday, July 31, that she had written a book about her campaign titled '107 Days,' which is set to be published in September.

Internet trolls Kamala Harris for her TikTok clip

A person remarked, "She drinks them in the closet," while another commented, "She hasn't been meeting with or doing anything with anyone. This is so cringe."

Another user wrote, "What a mess," while one said, "She needs to do an interview and the interviewer needs to pull random things from the book and ask her about them. That would be fun to watch."
