Kash Patel slams Eric Swalwell after ‘raid-jacket’ jab: ‘I spent zero days dating a Chinese spy’
WASHINGTON, DC: FBI Director Kash Patel responded on Monday to ridicule from California Rep Eric Swalwell by highlighting the congressman’s past contacts with a probable Chinese spy.
Patel also mocked the Democratic lawmaker for making fun of him “for not giving chase to a plane in Utah the day after Charlie Kirk's murder until he was handed a raid jacket and then wearing a woman's one,” keeping the focus on Swalwell’s criticism.
Kash Patel hits back at Eric Swalwell over ‘raid-jacket’ jab
“I was looking for a Youth Large… Domestic terrorism arrests are UP 30% this year; impressive, considering I spent zero days dating a Chinese spy named Fang Fang. Where should I send your women’s medium for date night?” Patel fired back at Swalwell on X.

Patel had reportedly demanded an FBI raid jacket when he arrived in Provo in the aftermath of the Charlie Kirk killing. According to sources, agents eventually found a jacket belonging to a female special agent for him.
I don’t mind that FBI Director Kash Patel had to wear a women’s (size medium) jacket to cosplay as someone in charge. I just wish he’d focus on stopping the rampant domestic terrorism happening on his watch. https://t.co/zcXH45K1XC

After seeing the hit piece, Swalwell took a shot at Patel’s manhood while criticizing what he described as Patel’s lack of focus on stopping domestic terrorism. “I don’t mind that FBI Director Kash Patel had to wear a woman’s (size medium) jacket to cosplay as someone in charge,” Swalwell snarked. “I just wish he’d focus on stopping the rampant domestic terrorism happening on his watch.”
Eric Swalwell’s past link to alleged Chinese spy Fang Fang resurfaces
Swalwell, one of the congressional representatives most notoriously antagonizing President Trump and known for his past connection with Fang Fang, also known as Christine Fang, who is allegedly a Chinese spy, previously had ties with her.
She helped raise funds for Swalwell in 2014, but a year later, after being briefed about Chinese infiltration, he decided to sever all contact, according to Axios.
The Democrat from the Golden State has been publicly ridiculing Patel in response to a report released by a national alliance of retired and active-duty FBI special agents and analysts. Miranda Devine of the New York Post was the first to break the news about the 115-page report earlier this week.
According to the report, on Sept 11, 2025, FBI special agents at the Salt Lake City field office "had to stop and ask around to find an FBI raid jacket, a medium-sized one, that would fit." The head of the FBI "would not leave the plane without an FBI raid jacket."
According to a new report from active-duty and retired FBI agents, there was a bit of an issue when Patel arrived at Provo in the aftermath of the Kirk assassination: he would not leave the plane without an FBI raid jacket. Eventually, agents brought him a jacket that belonged to a female agent, but Patel, according to the report, complained that "two areas on the upper sleeves did not have Velcro patches attached" and whined that they were not there.
