Katy Perry and ex Orlando Bloom face possible subpoenas in old Montecito mansion deal dispute
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Katy Perry and her ex-fiance Orlando Bloom might have to fight again an old legal battle that began nearly six years ago over the sale of a California mansion.
TMZ, citing court documents, reported that the former pair is being dragged back into the battle by businessman Carl Westcott.
Katy Perry allegedly failed to pay remaining amount to businessman Carl Westcott
Westcott had sold his Montecito mansion to Perry and Bloom, but in 2020, he tried to cancel the deal, citing mental incapacity due to Huntington's Disease.
But his claims were rejected by a judge, and in May, he was asked to pay the pop icon more than $3 million in legal fees as well as around $345,000 in court costs through her business manager Bernie Gudvi.
However, Perry was also ordered to pay Westcott the remaining balance, which came to around $4 million, on the 2.5-acre Montecito estate purchase.
Carl Westcott wants to question Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom about pending payment
In his new court filings, the Texas millionaire has alleged that the 41-year-old singer only gave him $900,000 in June, and the remaining amount is still pending. Westcott wants to subpoena Perry and the 49-year-old actor, which would allow him to question the two about his pending payment.
But the TV personality’s manager has slammed the new request. He also asserted that the remaining amount won’t be paid until the businessman pays him the money which he owes to Gudvi.
The ‘Dark Horse’ hitmaker’s manager has also accused Westcott of trying to harass Perry and Bloom with his new filing.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom split in 2025
Perry and Bloom started dating in 2016 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020. However, they went their separate ways in 2025, with Perry now dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
After the breakup, the songwriter said, “It was probably the hardest time. My friends were all hanging out back home. I was crying and just feeling far away. But then my angels went to work. They really showed up.”

Addressing her time with Bloom, Perry reportedly said in an interview, “I wouldn’t have stayed in something for nine years if there weren't really important things to learn. Each relationship is a teacher, right? I had to let it go so I could move forward.”
“I always wanted this epic legendary love, and I was talking to my therapist about it: Everything in my life is epic, but this is kind of the missing puzzle piece—then it showed up,” she added.
