NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Katy Perry did not hold back as she openly declared her love for Justin Trudeau at the premiere of her concert film ‘Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour’ during the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.
Her rare comment came after the pair made their official red carpet debut at the festival on Monday, June 8.
Katy Perry feels 'more grounded' with Justin Trudeau
During a Q&A session, the singer called the former Canadian Prime Minister “love of my life,” before adding, “I feel like a more grounded person in so many aspects of my life.”
Perry further shared that she’s “very in love.” She then added, “And actually, that show was after I met the love of my life and so I felt very anchored by that because I'm a little bit like a rainbow kite.”
“I fly super high and touch the veil... cosmos... and sometimes I need to be anchored. So, to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now, “ the ‘Dark Horse’ hitmaker added.
Katy Perry asks everyone to 'follow the inner butterfly inside of them'
The pop star also talked about her “inner butterfly” as she explained, “I did follow the butterfly, and I never knew really what the butterfly meant to me. But it was a metamorphosis, and it still continues to be a metamorphosis, and I would give that advice to everyone to follow the inner butterfly inside of them.”
Elsewhere during the conversation, Perry noted that “every day is a fantastic journey, and every day is a chance to evolve and to be a better person and do the right thing and to be a model for your community, for your family, for your world.”
Katy Perry calls Orlando Bloom breakup 'really, really hard'
Before Trudeau, Perry was engaged to actor Orlando Bloom. They share a five-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom.
The exes were together for nine years but their relationship ended last year.
Reflecting on it, the ‘Queen of Camp’ stated, “I went through a f*** ton, and there were days that were really, really, really, really hard. And I just kept going ‘cause I made a promise to my fans. I made a promise to my daughter. I made a promise to myself. And I got through it.”
“I walked through the fire because everybody has to walk through their own fire, and if you're walking through hell, you keep going because on the other side of hell is definitely heaven,” she added.
Perry, 41, also shed light on her personal growth and how her 40s are different from her 20s.
“I'm different now. Your 20s are for emotions. Your 30s are for sorting them, and your 40s are for f***ing not caring about those emotions and turning them into gasoline—finally transmuting all those emotions into a creative something,” she asserted.
