“To have admired her was a gift. To have met her, spent time in her presence, and somehow been lucky enough that Dolly Parton knew my name... I will never have words big enough for what that means to me. What an astronomical human being. What a legacy. What a loss. There will never be another Dolly,” she added.
Kardashian's tribute highlighted the personal connection she had developed with Parton over the years, beyond her longtime admiration for the singer and entertainer.
Dolly Parton discussed married life on Khloe Kardashian's podcast
Parton appeared on Kardashian's podcast, 'Khloé in Wonder Land', in 2025, where she talked about her late husband, Carl Thomas Dean.
During the episode, she revealed, “We got along great because we didn’t have nothing to fight over. We were different people. He loved music, but he was a loner. He did not want a bunch of people around him except me. Of course, he had friends, but he was also the same way. He’d rather be at the barn, be on the farm all day.”
“But I really think that there’s just certain personalities that are great for each other. And we were together 61 years. We were just so different, but we were so similar,” Parton stated, before adding, “We were perfect, as far as the temperature in the house. We didn’t fight over that ‘cause we both were comfortable at the same thing.”
The podcast appearance gave Kardashian another opportunity to spend time with Parton and hear her speak about her life, making the birthday message she later shared even more personal.
