Khloe Kardashian says she was called a 'traitor to the bigger community' after her weight loss journey

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Khloe Kardashian has shared that she faced judgment from "the bigger community" after losing weight.
The 40-year-old reality star has opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing the impact it had on her mental health.
In a candid conversation with influencer Whitney Simmons, Kardashian revealed that she received highly mixed reactions to her changed appearance, with some even labeling her a “traitor to the bigger community.”

Khloe Kardashian opens up about body image, public scrutiny, and confidence on podcast
In the latest episode of her podcast 'Khloe in Wonderland', uploaded on X on Wednesday, June 18, 'The Kardashians' star joined Simmons for an open conversation on fitness and mental health.

Reflecting on the public’s reaction to her weight loss, she shared, "I'm not myself, I’m not funny anymore, I’m not all the things that I still am at my core, I just aesthetically look a little different.”
Simmons shared that as a fitness influencer, she’s "constantly critiqued" for her body — but admitted she "can’t even imagine" the level of scrutiny someone like Kardashian faces due to her fame.

She admitted that, over time, she accepted she couldn’t satisfy everyone’s opinions. “You know what, I’m never going to make everyone happy,” Kardashian said. “But am I happy? Okay, cool.”
Although she noted that she "felt more confident" when she had a bit more weight, she acknowledged that societal pressures influenced her decision to slim down.
Kardashian reflected on how the public perception shaped her self-image. “I never thought I was fat until I got on TV and everyone told me how fat I was,” she said.

“I didn’t know I was fat. What's interesting is, looking back, I’m like, wait, I actually wasn’t as fat as even I convinced myself that I was. But it was a different time, too. People were so thin during that time,” she further added.
Khloe Kardashian opens up about protein-packed wellness journey and snack brand
In April, 'The Kardashian' star spoke exclusively with PEOPLE about her current focus on health and fitness.
“I'm at this stage in my [health] journey for the past few years that I've been really trying to up my protein intake. I'm all about muscle definition and being strong and healthy, not just skinny,” she explained while promoting her Khloud Protein Popcorn.

“Protein wise, I'm not someone that is going to sit down and have steak and eggs all day long, and I need to consume protein. I was going to fitness stores to get protein, grab and go. And they don't taste very well, in my opinion, and they're filled with so much filler and artificial stuff. And I really just wanted something, selfishly, that tasted great, that didn't have a ton of ingredients in it, that I could [fulfill] my protein intake [with],” she said.
Kardashian added that while she tries to make healthy choices, she still enjoys fun, kid-friendly food. “I love a kid's menu. I am never going to get rid of that,” she said with a laugh.
“I don't have some refined taste palette, I really don't. I wish I did, just to admit that I had that, but I think I'll always be a snacker. I just want to feel good about the things I'm eating.”

Kardashian, who shares daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 2, with ex Tristan Thompson, said the idea for her new snack brand came from her own struggles as a mom trying to find nutritious options for her kids.
