WASHINGTON, DC: Kid Rock aimed at critics, who are losing their minds over President Donald Trump's White House ballroom project.

Speaking to Fox News on Friday, October 24, he said critics would stop complaining if Trump “put in a gender neutral bathroom.” He added that this would make the leftists happy, as they would then say, “Oh, we love your ballroom idea!”

The project has drawn widespread attention, particularly because it involves bulldozing the East Wing, and the construction is estimated to cost $300 million.

Kid Rock hits back at leftists with humor over Trump’s ballroom construction

The ‘Cowboy’ hitmaker recently grabbed headlines with his satirical take on President Trump's White House ballroom project. In a recent interview, he mocked left-wing critics, suggesting they would suddenly support the project if Trump simply added a gender-neutral bathroom.

"This is the people's house? That is correct. Guess what? We the people elected this man overwhelmingly to be in that house, and he's going to build a big, beautiful addition! It's not going to take any of the taxpayers money to do it," he said.

He continued, “And thank God if he's going to sidestep a few regulations, which I don't know that to be a fact, but I wouldn't be mad at him! I've built some things and trying to get things done - I can only imagine the regulations if he tried to do it all exactly by the book."

Finally, he joked about the meltdown and said, “All he has to do is say, 'we're going to put in a gender neutral bathroom!' And they'll be like, 'Oh, we love your ballroom idea!"

Donald Trump announces construction of new White House ballroom

Donald Trump has initiated the construction of a new 90,000-square-foot ballroom at the White House, marking one of the most significant private renovation projects at the residence in decades. The project was announced in July 2025, and the White House even shared a video.

The ballroom is designed to accommodate up to 999 seated guests and will serve as a venue for official state functions and events. It is being constructed on the site of the East Wing, which has been fully demolished to make way for the new structure.  The project is being funded entirely through private donations, with no cost to taxpayers.

Democrats slam Donald Trump over East Wing demolition for construction of ballroom

Some of President Donald Trump’s fiercest critics, including California Governor Gavin Newsom and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, condemned the demolition on social media. “Ripping apart the White House just like he’s ripping apart the Constitution,” Newsom posted on X.

“It’s not his house. It’s your house. And he’s destroying it,” Clinton added. On October 21, the National Trust for Historic Preservation voiced its "great concern." They said the proposed ballroom could "overwhelm the White House" and "disrupt its carefully balanced classical design."
