Kim Kardashian defends herself after posting vacation pics following grandma Mary Jo's death
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian has now issued a clarification after being called out for sharing some vacation photos at the time when her grandmother Mary Jo "MJ" Campbell’s death was announced.
The Instagram carousel included multiple photos and a video, showing the 45-year-old media personality enjoying time with her family. The July 16 post appeared from the same vacation, which included her boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton.
Kim captioned the share simply as “lake life.”

However, now following the backlash, the mother-of-four has defended herself. Kim commented below, “This post was scheduled a few days ago before we lost MJ, so its timing came right alongside her passing.”
“I’ve been by my mom and grandma’s side this past week, and my heart is completely with my family right now. We love and miss her so deeply, and in the days ahead, we’ll be focusing on celebrating her beautiful life,” the reality TV star added.

The SKIMS founder also honored Campbell, who died at the age of 91 on July 16, in a separate Instagram post.
Calling her late grandmother her “best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin,” Kim wrote, “You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!!!!! You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman.”
She also shared in the heartfelt post that her late grandmother was the one who taught her “work ethic, strength, and confidence that I’ve carried with me ever since.”
“You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place. You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us,” she added.
The socialite ended her post on a lighter note, “I know you are up in heaven, looking at all of our Instagram posts of you from your sneaky finsta account you would always use lol.”

Campbell’s cause of death has not been revealed yet but she had battled both breast cancer and colon cancer.
Her daughter, Kris Jenner, announced on July 16 that they “said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. 😞💔.”
“Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing that love like yours never truly leaves us. Your love will live on in our family, in our traditions, in every moment we are together, and in every life you touched. When I look at my kids and my grandkids, I will forever see pieces of you in all of us,” the 70-year-old added.
