LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kris Jenner’s mother, Mary Jo 'MJ' Campbell, died on Thursday, July 16. She was 91. Her death was announced in an emotional social media post by the Jenner-Kardashian matriarch, who said she was heartbroken by the loss.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Kris Jenner shared an old photo of her mother, writing, “Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. 😞💔 There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye.”
Calling Campbell “the heart of our family,” the 70-year-old said, “She taught me everything that truly matters… to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted.”
In her heartfelt tribute, Kris also said it was her mother who taught her the importance of family and “showed us how to love unconditionally and how to find joy in the little moments. She showed me how to face life’s challenges with resilience and faith.”

The 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star also expressed her gratitude for her mother’s sacrifices, wisdom, and love.
“Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing that love like yours never truly leaves us. Your love will live on in our family, in our traditions, in every moment we are together, and in every life you touched. When I look at my kids and my grandkids, I will forever see pieces of you in all of us,” Kris added.
Concluding her post, the mother of six expressed how devastated she was, writing, “Thank you for giving me the greatest childhood and oh what a beautiful blessed life… I love you forever Mommy. Thank you for giving us everything.”
Kris Jenner mourned sister Karen Houghton in 2024
Campbell would have turned 92 on July 26. She was also the mother of Karen Houghton, who died in March 2024.
Houghton was 65, and at the time, her famous sister shared, “It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly. My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time.”
“I cherish every single memory we have together. Karen’s passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised. We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister,” Kris had added.
