Kim Kardashian shares fresh update on legal career one year after failing California bar exam
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian is not giving up on her dream of becoming a lawyer, but she is taking a slower approach after failing the California bar exam last year.
The ‘All’s Fair’ star recently revealed that she continues to think about the exam but wants to wait until she has enough time to prepare for a second attempt.
Kardashian is currently balancing several professional commitments alongside raising her four children.

Kim Kardashian puts bar exam plans on hold amid busy schedule
Kardashian has pursued her ambition to become a lawyer since announcing her plans in 2019, when she began working in criminal justice reform.
Her efforts reached a significant milestone last year when she graduated from a four-year Law Office Study Program. She later took the California bar exam in July but revealed months later that she hadn't passed.
Speaking to PEOPLE while attending the red carpet premiere of the second season of her legal drama ‘All’s Fair,’ Kardashian admitted that the examination remains on her mind. “I am always thinking about the bar,” she said.
However, the reality star acknowledged that her current schedule makes it difficult to dedicate sufficient time to studying. Alongside her role in the Ryan Murphy drama, Kardashian is managing a new season of ‘The Kardashians,’ an upcoming film from Eva Longoria, her SKIMS business and responsibilities as a mother of four.

“I’m going to take my time and wait until the moment is right,” she said about her plans to retake the examination. “When I have some free time to focus on it.”
Her approach received support from her ‘All’s Fair’ co-star Sarah Paulson, who expressed confidence in Kardashian's future as a lawyer. Standing beside her, Paulson said, “She’s going to be a great lawyer. She will.”
Kardashian previously revealed that her interest in pursuing law was inspired by her father, Robert Kardashian, who represented O.J. Simpson during his 1995 murder trial. Since announcing her ambitions in 2019, she has openly documented different stages of her journey, including emotional study sessions and her examination attempts.
One of her major achievements came in 2021, when she passed the baby bar exam after four attempts. She also shared details of consulting a psychic about the outcome of her 2025 bar exam. However, the psychic incorrectly predicted that she had passed.

Kim Kardashian remains determined to pursue her lawyer dream
Kardashian has previously spoken about the possibility of stepping away from reality television after qualifying as a lawyer. During an appearance on Graham Norton's talk show last October, she discussed her long-term ambitions and suggested that she could eventually dedicate herself entirely to legal work.
“Maybe in 10 years, I think I’ll give up being Kim K and be a trial lawyer,” she said. “That’s what I really want.”
A month after that appearance, Kardashian informed her Instagram followers that she had failed the California bar examination. In a now-expired Instagram Stories post, she addressed her results while reiterating her determination to continue studying.

“I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” she wrote, adding, “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination.”
She also thanked her fans and everyone who had supported her throughout the process, maintaining that falling short would not discourage her from pursuing the qualification.
“Falling short isn’t failure — it’s fuel,” Kardashian wrote. “I was so close to passing the exam, and that only motivates me even more. Let’s go!!!!!!!!!!!”
Meanwhile, Kardashian continues to explore her courtroom ambitions through television. In ‘All’s Fair,’ she plays Allura Grant, who leads a team of all-female divorce attorneys.
