Klay Thompson responds in four words after Megan Thee Stallion split over cheating allegations
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Professional basketball player Klay Thompson has responded to allegations made by rapper Megan Thee Stallion during an online confrontation involving Chicago streamer Matthew Brooks.
The couple had earlier appeared to be in good spirits, with the rapper frequently sharing their pictures on social media. However, Megan Thee Stallion publicly announced the end of their relationship in a statement last week, accusing him of "infidelity."
Matthew Brooks’ remarks spark online clash involving Klay Thompson amid cheating allegations
The latest development began with Brooks, who posted a heated video on Instagram on Wednesday, April 29, reacting to radio host Stephen A Smith’s comments about Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion. Smith commented on the situation, “I don’t know what happened in their relationship. Don’t wanna know, ain’t none of my damn business."
He further said, "How come you just couldn’t break up and go on your merry way?” and pushed further, “What if Klay said it was you? What if Klay said that you was out there getting your freak on?”
Smith also criticized what he described as a broader trend, saying, “Why is this propensity existing to be talking, telling everybody your business?” and at one point, “These women just chirp, chirp, chirping all over the damn place.”
In response, Brooks did not hold back, calling Smith “morally bankrupt” and also hurling abuses at Thompson.
The rant quickly gained traction, and at this point, Dallas Mavericks forward entered the conversation publicly through the comment section. Commenting directly under the post, he wrote, “Please go touch grass.”
Brooks immediately fired back, tagging him and doubling down, “Klay Thompson stop touching other women gang. Take some accountability.” The situation traces back to Megan Thee Stallion publicly accusing Thompson of cheating in late April, which sparked widespread online speculation.
That speculation soon extended beyond the couple, falsely linking professional basketball player Lexie Brown to the matter and resulting in a wave of harassment.
Lexie Brown addresses rumors involving Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion
Brown directly shut down the rumors, issuing a statement denying claims that she had an affair with Thompson amid his recent breakup. Now, after allegedly receiving death threats over the speculation, she has criticized Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion for not publicly addressing or disputing the rumors themselves.
“I wouldn't have minded if either one of them came out and said it because at the end of the day, they're the ones that are in the relationship, they're the ones that are dealing with this, and they're the ones who are communicating with each other. So one of them, if not both of them know that it was not me,” Brown told Fox News Digital in a recent interview.
She continued, “The truth is over there somewhere, and I was expecting it to reveal itself from that side of it... for them to just allow me to get dragged, for a lot of people to allow me to get dragged through the mud... it was just really disappointing.”
On her past interactions with both of them, Brown said, “Me and Klay, we know each other because we do play professional basketball. I wouldn't have considered him a friend. I do not know Meg The Stallion at all.”
Brown, a 2021 WNBA champion with the Chicago Sky, said she initially expected one of them to address and deny the rumors shortly after they surfaced, while she was focused on a WNBA preseason game.
However, that did not happen, she added, “I had a game to focus on, and I quite literally did not have time to handle that, and in the back of my mind, knowing 100% what was being said was false, that surely somebody would step in and say, no, this is a lie. Please point your fingers somewhere else or don't point them at Lexi, and by the time the game was over, it had not happened."
