Megan Thee Stallion ends relationship with Klay Thompson after cheating allegations: ‘Bye yall’

HOUSTON, TEXAS: Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has ended her relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson after cheating allegations surfaced, addressing the split through a series of public statements and social media posts that quickly drew widespread attention.

She emphasized that trust, respect, and fidelity are non-negotiable in her relationships, signaling the end of the romance. The breakup comes amid a busy professional period for Megan Thee Stallion, including her recent Broadway debut in New York City, where she performed in ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

The 'Hiss' rapper publicly called out her now ex-boyfriend in a statement shared on her Instagram Story on Saturday, April 25, writing, “Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet.’ Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’????.”

Megan Thee Stallion then added, “I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall.”

Following her Instagram post, she issued a formal statement confirming the split. “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay Thompson,” she said.

She continued, “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”

While Megan Thee Stallion did not initially name Klay Thompson in her post, the pair had publicly confirmed their relationship, sharing affectionate moments on social media in recent months. In late March, Megan Thee Stallion posted a mirror selfie showing herself standing in front of the Dallas Mavericks player as he held her waist.

Klay Thompson also gifted Megan Thee Stallion a powder-blue Bentley for her birthday in February, with the couple celebrating the occasion during a tropical getaway. She later shared photos from the trip, writing, “Aw man I was not ready for this birthday trip to be over. A time was definitely had. THANK YOU BABY.”

In January, Megan Thee Stallion spoke to PEOPLE about her relationship with Klay Thompson, saying he entered her life unexpectedly. “Well, I don't never want to tell [anybody] to just jump in a relationship just because everybody else got one, and I'm not going to tell you to just jump in a relationship because you have to,” she said.

She added, “I didn't even know I was going to be in my relationship, to be honest.”

Megan Thee Stallion also said, “This is one of the first times that I've ever been just overly comfortable,” adding with her signature giggle, “I'm comfy, babe!”

The pair were first linked last summer and later made their red carpet debut at the rapper’s inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City on July 16. At the event, Megan Thee Stallion praised Klay Thompson, calling him the “nicest person I’ve ever met in my life.”

Before Klay Thompson, Megan Thee Stallion was linked to Chicago Bulls player Torrey Craig in 2024, Belgian footballer Romelu Lukaku in 2023, and rapper Pardison “Pardi” Fontaine in 2021.
