LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kris Jenner allegedly became furious while filming ‘The Kardashians’ after learning that her past affair would be discussed in a new biography about her daughter Kim Kardashian.

Author Jonathan Van Meter revealed that the incident occurred while the family was filming their Hulu reality series. His book, ‘Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future’, is set to be released on October 27.

Kris Jenner reportedly reacts to affair revelation in Kim Kardashian biography

Van Meter, who spent considerable time with the Kardashian-Jenner family while working on the biography, recalled an incident Kim had told him about during a late-night conversation a few months ago.

When asked whether members of the family had read the biography, the author said Kim had been at her younger sister Khloe Kardashian’s house when Khloe told her that Kris had “flipped out on camera” while filming the show.

According to Van Meter, Kris was upset about the inclusion of her past relationship in the book. He recounted Kim telling him that her mother had been yelling, “Why did Kim drag us all into this? Why is my affair from 30 years ago in the book?”

However, the author's account suggested that the reaction did not last long. Van Meter said that “two days later,” Kris “was fine.” He also added, “It’s going to be on the show,” referring to the family's Hulu series ‘The Kardashians’, which is now in its eighth season.

Van Meter also shared Kim's response to her mother's concerns about the biography. The Skims founder reportedly told Kris, “All this stuff gets written about us, and then a guy comes along who gets us and wants to explain us. Why wouldn’t you want that?”

The author said this was “the closest I got to an answer about why she did the book,” referring to Kris's participation in the project.

Although Van Meter did not identify the person involved in the affair in his account, Kris had previously acknowledged having an extramarital relationship with Todd Waterman in 1989, while married to Kim's father, Robert Kardashian.

Kris Jenner calls affair with Todd Waterman her biggest regret

Kris was married to Robert Kardashian, an attorney who was part of OJ Simpson's defense team, from 1978 to 1991. The former couple shared four children: Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian Jr. Robert died in September 2003 at the age of 59 following a brief battle with esophageal cancer.

Kris has repeatedly expressed regret over her relationship with Waterman. During a 2023 episode of ‘The Kardashians’, Khloe questioned her mother about why she had cheated on her father and what he had failed to provide in their marriage.

“I don’t know because he was such a great husband and such a great dad, and I think that I fell into a situation where I thought that the grass was greener somewhere else, and I made a huge mistake,” Kris explained. “That’s my life’s biggest regret.”

She further admitted, “I’m not proud of the way I behaved during that time, but you know what? Everything happens for a reason.”

Kris also said she believed God had a plan for her life, adding that without the relationship and its consequences, her daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner might never have been born.

Kris, now 70, married former Olympian Bruce Jenner in 1991. They separated in 2013 and divorced in 2014. The couple welcomed daughters Kendall, 30, and Kylie, 29. Bruce publicly came out as transgender in 2015 and is now known as Caitlyn Jenner.

During a later confessional, Kris also discussed why she hoped Khloe would think twice before ending her relationship with NBA player Tristan Thompson, with whom Khloe shares daughter True and son Tatum.
