WASHINGTON, DC: On Labor Day, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem emphasized that America is once again working for Americans, with all new job gains going to US citizens.

In her message, she celebrated the addition of 2.5 million American workers to the workforce since President Donald Trump took office.

Noem highlighted how this significant progress has been achieved since Trump assumed office in January, marking a turning point in the nation’s employment landscape.

According to a Homeland Security press release, Kristi Noem celebrated Labor Day by highlighting American workers, not foreigners.

The statement, released on Monday, September 1, began by saying, "Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS is getting US citizens back to work, saving their hard-earned money, and ensuring America works for Americans again."

It continued, "This Labor Day, Secretary Noem is celebrating the 2.5 million American workers who joined the US workforce since President Trump took office. In comparison, 88% of jobs created during the same period under Biden went to foreign-born workers. New jobs created under President Trump are going to American workers."

The release also noted a significant drop in the number of undocumented immigrants, estimating a decline of approximately 1.6 million across the country.

On her X (formerly Twitter) account, Noem stated the same, writing, "This Labor Day, America works for Americans again. 100% of all new job gains have gone to US citizens, and 2.5 million Americans are back at work since January. Under Biden, 88% of all jobs went to foreign born workers. Meanwhile DHS reforms have saved taxpayers over $13.2 billion. President Trump and I are putting the American worker FIRST. Happy Labor Day!”

The statement emphasized that the US economy is thriving because it has become safer to do business. It pointed out that under this administration, 70% of arrests made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement involve illegal aliens who have been convicted or charged with crimes in the US, excluding foreign fugitives, gang members, or terrorists without US records.

In addition to creating jobs for Americans, Noem has saved taxpayers $13.2 billion without cutting funding for critical law enforcement, border security, national security, immigration enforcement, or public safety roles.

The statement concluded by saying, "For years, unelected bureaucrats rubber-stamped hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts, fueling a culture of waste, fraud, and abuse. Under Secretary Noem, that era is over."
