NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump stated that the enthusiasm of supporters of President Joe Biden for his possible reelection is running low, during an interview with Newsmax on Monday, May 20.

Her comments came in light of the incumbent's motorcade passing through the heart of the blue city of Atlanta over the weekend without much visible fanfare. Biden was reportedly in the city to participate in a fundraising event, and to deliver a commencement speech at Morehouse College, a historically Black institution.

Back in 2020, Biden became the first Democrat to secure a victory in the presidential election in the swing state of Georgia. However, the political landscape has since shifted, with recent polls putting presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump in the lead.

Lara Trump calls Joe Biden's Atlanta visit 'Pandering Tour'

Trump told the host at Newsmax that the incumbent spent his weekend on a "pandering" tour, "because he knows … the same polling that we are seeing at the Trump campaign and at the RNC is the same polling that his team is getting right now."

"What you understand if you look at those polls, is that if Donald Trump holds the Black support that he currently has right now in today's polls - which is around 23% - it is game over for Democrats. And so Joe Biden, I guess, felt that the best thing to do was to go out there and really just insult a whole host of people," she shared.

"Obviously, it is not working ... There's video of him driving through Atlanta to get to Morehouse College. Literally, no one is excited to see Joe Biden there. The streets are empty. There is no energy. There is no enthusiasm."

Lara Trump explains why Joe Biden is losing supporters

Trump claimed that some people were calling out the President on his lies, while everyone could see that the narrative being promoted by him and his campaign was not in line with the ground reality.

"When you go to the grocery store, when you go fill up your car with gas, and you say something isn't working. This guy is telling me one thing, but I remember four years ago, how much better my life was," stated Trump, who is married to former President Donald Trump's son, Eric.

"Really, under Donald Trump, everybody was better off. Everybody was feeling the impact of a better economy, and it really was the Grand Opportunity Party," she continued, later adding, "You can fool people… only for so long."
