WASHINGTON, DC: A former employee of Kamala Harris has hinted at her apparent unpleasant experience of working with the Vice President.

Symone Sanders-Townsend served as the chief spokesperson and senior adviser for Harris before joining MSNBC two years ago.

During a sit-down on Thursday, July 25, with Jen Psaki, Symone Sanders-Townsend spoke about the criticisms Kamala Harris has been dealing with after becoming the new presumptive Democratic nominee, as reported by Fox News.

She said, “The thing about being the first is because you're the first- whether you're the first woman, first person of color, so on and so forth, folks just sometimes don't know how to deal with you. ”

“They don't know how to process it. And so they resort to, unfortunately, sometimes racist, sexist tropes and memes and stereotypes,” the 34-year-old political commentator mentioned.

Symone Sanders-Townsend then went on to speak about her time serving Kamala Harris.

“It was new for me when I worked for her because I never worked for a high-profile woman before. I had only ever worked for men,” she said.

She further stated, “There was one day at work where I was like, ma'am, you might be the last woman I work for because this is, it's a lot that we got to deal with over in here.”

Sanders-Townsend also revealed to Psaki that Harris “was always aware of the criticism of her.”

She continued, “When I worked there, we didn't hide it from her. But it did not deter her. It was something though that I think any candidate, any candidate, any person in power needs to be aware of the criticism."

“Because when you're not aware, the last thing you want is your candidate, your principal, the vice president of the United States of America to be out there and someone says something and they're like ‘Well what’s that all about?' ‘Well, ma’am, we discussed that this morning at 10 a.m.’”

To which, Psaki added, “Yeah. I mean, it's important for them to be aware, which is such an interesting thing. It's how they respond to it.”

Netizens call Kamala Harris ‘most disrespectful and unorganized person’

Meanwhile, people have shared their thoughts over Symone Sanders-Townsend’s revelation.

A reader below the Fox News article wrote, “‘The thing about being the first is because you're the first- whether you're the first woman, the first person of color, so on and so forth, folks just sometimes don't know how to deal with you,’ None of those ‘firsts’ mean anything. Only qualifications matter.”

Another reader commented, “Democrats love firsts. It doesn't matter if it's bad or not... as long as it's the first! They see that as progress. It's delusional.”

A third one shared, “This seems to be a recurring theme; she has a very high turnover rate.  Keep in mind that with the exception of Joe’s staff, this is the penultimate job for anyone who loves politics.  So it’s not like they’re leaving for a better job.  If someone can’t manage their staff, how can they be expected to manage an entire country?”

“In my lifetime, I have very seldom seen two minority women of color get along in a working environment, especially when one is a boss or supervisor,” a fourth one stated.

A fifth one asked, “Could she be less specific? What were her issues with Harris? Why isn't Fox asking more questions, doing more research?”

A person noted, “Harris has proven to be divisive in her own office. She's as unhinged as Lori Lightfoot and that's the toxic brew that the Dems didn't want, either. The left-wing can't help but find ways to be even more pathetic. It just gets worse.”

Another one added, “Her staff come and go like a revolving door. They say she is the most disrespectful and unorganized person to work for. I believe them!”
