Laura Ingraham claims Merrick Garland’s actions validate all of Trump’s warnings about DOJ bias
WASHINGTON, DC: On a recent episode of 'The Ingraham Angle,' Fox News host Laura Ingraham delivered a sharp critique of the current state of American justice, asserting that the "weaponization" of the legal system against former President Donald Trump has dramatically backfired on Democrats.
Ingraham’s commentary, following a significant appearance by Attorney General Merrick Garland, highlights a narrative of systemic failure and political retribution that she argues has been central to Trump’s critiques of Washington.
Laura Ingraham slams Merrick Garland’s actions as proof of Donald Trump’s claims on DOJ bias
Laura Ingraham portrayed Attorney General Merrick Garland's recent actions as a stark example of misjudgment, suggesting that Garland’s appearance just days after a key debate only exacerbated the Department of Justice’s already tarnished reputation.
According to Ingraham, Garland’s response to Trump’s criticisms inadvertently confirmed the former president’s warnings that the judicial system was being weaponized for political purposes.
“I mean, you can't make this up,” Ingraham remarked. “But making this appearance today, just a few days after the debate, is just another in a long line of missteps by this attorney general. Because if he's worried about the declining reputation of the DOJ, he only made things worse and merely confirmed everything that Donald Trump has been warning about.”
Ingraham argued that this line of criticism aligns with Trump’s long-standing campaign message, which dates back to his 2015 presidential announcement.
She highlighted Trump’s core campaign themes: the failure of Washington elites to serve American interests, their focus on personal gain over the public good, and Trump’s commitment to addressing these issues.
Laura Ingraham claims DC establishment's actions validate Donald Trump’s critique of self-interest
Laura Ingraham maintained that over the past nine years, the DC establishment has repeatedly confirmed Donald Trump's critique through its perceived incompetence and self-serving actions.
“Remember back to 2015 when Donald Trump came down that escalator when he announced his first run for the presidency,” Ingraham said.
“He based his campaign then, and I think it's still based on, two ideas. First, that the people in charge in D.C. had failed to defend and advance the interests of the United States. And number two, that he believed the reason they failed was because they put their own interests ahead of the interests of the American people. And of course, number three, that he was the right person to turn it all around.”
Laura Ingraham blames DC establishment’s failures on 'malevolence'
Laura Ingraham highlighted several key areas where she believes the DC establishment has fallen short: the economy, foreign relations, border security, the credibility of the legal system, and military engagements.
She argued that these failures are not merely a product of incompetence but are also driven by “malevolence”—a deliberate and harmful disregard for the needs and interests of ordinary Americans.
“They failed to build a strong economy. They have failed to stand up to China,” Ingraham asserted. “They have failed to defend our borders. They failed to protect the credibility of our legal system, and they failed to win their wars of choice. And the reason for all this failure is not just incompetence, but there's plenty of that. It's also malevolence.”
Ingraham's argument hinges on the notion that recent events have confirmed Trump's warnings regarding the weaponization of justice.
She suggested that Garland's actions and the DOJ's broader response exemplify the politicization Trump has consistently criticized.
Laura Ingraham criticizes Kamala Harris’ focus on style over substance
Laura Ingraham contrasted this with the more glamorous but less substantive appeals from figures like Vice President Kamala Harris, arguing that working-class Americans are more concerned with tangible results than with high-profile personalities.
“Despite her well-rehearsed lines and practiced facial expressions, and there were a lot of those, Kamala Harris did not seem to move a lot of the working-class people who don't seem very impressed by Taylor Swift or vibes,” Ingraham said. “What they want are results.”
