WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News host Laura Ingraham claimed Donald Trump picked Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz as his running mate in an embarrassing slip-up on live television on Wednesday, October 2.

Walz is the Democratic vice presidential candidate and the running mate of the party's presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Former president and GOP nominee Trump, on the other hand, has picked Ohio Senator JD Vance as his second in command in the 2024 race to the White House.

While making a case for Trump picking Vance, the host of 'The Ingraham Angle' stated, "Trump did not select Vance because he wanted a 'Yes-man,' or he wanted a lackey. Trump picked Walz because he wanted someone who could advance his agenda for economic growth and peace through strength."

Laura Ingraham felt JD Vance's debate performance 'vindicated' Donald Trump's choice

During her opening monologue, Laura Ingraham further claimed that JD Vance's performance in the vice presidential debate against Time Walz on October 1 "totally vindicated" Trump for picking him.

"Now, let's be clear: No one but Trump would have picked Vance, who was most definitely not the choice of the Senate leadership, even though when pressed by a Huffington Post reporter at the DNC, Mitch McConnell did call Vance a great choice," shared the anchor.

"It was a controversial decision at the time, but Trump was willing to take the slings and arrows in order to name Vance as his number two because it was someone who actually believed in the America First agenda," she continued.

"For years, the media poisoned minds against Trump. Remember, even Vance was a strong critic, but press matters less these days," argued Ingraham. "Now with Trump, Vance is helping to lead the new Republican coalition. People ask me, 'How would you describe this new coalition?' I'd say, 'optimistic and pragmatic, patriotic and peace-seeking.' American families first, America first."

Laura Ingraham trolled online for major slip-up on live TV

After the clip of Laura Ingraham's slip-up on live TV went viral, netizens took to X to brutally troll the Fox News host for her verbal gaffe. Some even asked her to "go off air."

"Laura should never go on air at wine o'clock," wrote a social media user.

"Laura is in mental decline, get her off the air and into a facility," suggested another.

"Either Laura drank her dinner again or she’s acknowledging Walz is a far better pick than Vance. Or both. Probably both," one person said sarcastically.

"Laura lies so much she's confusing her own damn self. She is despicable," another stated.

"Walz is sooo deep in the recesses of their minds.. rent free," one individual wrote.

"I hope the teleprompter person did that on purpose...moohahaha," added another.
