WASHINGTON, DC: Laura Loomer jumped in to defend Erika Kirk after Candace Owens questioned whether she was right to get a spot on the United States Air Force Academy board.

Social media users were to quick to discuss about Erika Kirk stepping into the position her late husband, Charlie Kirk, once held.

Loomer didn’t hold back, and rapidly fired shots at Owens, standing by Erika Kirk, and brushing off the doubts about her appointment.

Laura Loomer says Erika Kirk's appointment honors Charlie Kirk’s work

Loomer said Owens was framing the issue as a conspiracy and insisted the appointment was meant to honor Charlie Kirk’s earlier selection to the board.

“Hi @RealCandaceO,” Loomer wrote. “Since everything is a conspiracy to you, let me explain.”

Loomer said Charlie Kirk had been selected by President Donald Trump to serve on the Air Force Academy board before his death.

She added that the decision to appoint Erika Kirk was meant to allow her to continue the work her husband had begun.

“Before Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September, had been selected by President Trump to serve on the Air Force Academy board last year,” Loomer wrote.

“Charlie was appointed. He is now dead, so to honor him, his wife is taking his spot,” she stated, adding, "Not everything is a conspiracy."

Candace Owens slams the appointment sarcastically

Earlier Owens criticized the decision, arguing that sympathy for Charlie Kirk’s loss should not shield the appointment from scrutiny.

“She’s a grieving widow so we have no right to ask what the hell qualifies her to a position advising our Defense Department.”

She sarcastically added that the situation was being treated as if “only people who are DEMONIC would question this appointment.”

Loomer responded directly to Owens, dismissing the criticism and defending the decision to place Erika Kirk in the role.

Lawmaker also backs Erika Kirk appointment

Laura Loomer isn't the only supporting Erika Kirk's appointment. August Pfluger, a Republican congressman from Texas, also backed her.

He said Erika is ready to carry on the work her husband started while he was on the academy board.

"Erika is the right person to fill Charlie’s place on the Board and continue his work of inspiring the next generation of service members and advancing the Academy," Rep August Pfluger, R-Texas, said.

Loomer and Owens really put their disagreement out in the open, showing just how split conservative commentators are over this appointment.

Some people are skeptical, wondering if Erika Kirk actually has the experience for the advisory role.

On the other hand, her supporters say she earned it, pointing to Charlie Kirk’s past appointment and everything he’s done so far.
