WASHINGTON, DC: White House social media footage from the 'Freedom 250 Grand Prix' has drawn attention after presidential aide Natalie Harp appeared to be cropped out of multiple videos showing President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the August 23 race in Washington, DC.

Harp was visible in broadcast footage from the event, where she stood among Trump's guests in the presidential suite. At one point, she could be seen standing behind and slightly to the right of Trump and Melania as the president waved the green flag to start the IndyCar race.

White House footage leaves Natalie Harp out of frame

Videos shared by the White House on Instagram and X used tighter framing that did not show Harp. One Instagram clip focused closely on Trump as he waved the starting flag, providing little context of the people surrounding him.

A wider frame shared by the White House on X also showed Trump and Melania but omitted Harp. The framing trimmed part of the Fox Sports logo and much of Melania's arm, while the uncropped Fox Sports broadcast showed Harp standing behind Melania and clapping.

The White House has not publicly explained why Harp was not visible in the social media versions of the footage.

The apparent cropping comes as Harp has become a regular presence around Trump. She has traveled with the president and has reportedly been involved in managing his schedule, access and social media presence.

Melania Trump walks away as Natalie Harp approaches Trump

Harp stepped into wider public view at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington as Melania made a rare appearance alongside the president. A separate video from the Freedom 250 Grand Prix has added to the attention surrounding Trump, Melania and Harp.

Video below shows Melania Trump leaving her seat as Donald Trump appears to signal Natalie Harp during the Freedom 250 Grand Prix.

The footage shows Trump and Melania seated together in a viewing booth when Trump appears to signal Harp, who then approaches the president and seemingly moves to hand him his phone. Melania stands up and walks away as Harp comes into view.

Harp's role has come under scrutiny beyond her proximity to Trump. She had worked at the White House for more than a year without completing the routine security-clearance process, according to the outlet, and MS Now reported that Trump intervened for her to begin the process.

That scrutiny intensified around sensitive travel. Harp was among a small group of aides who joined Trump as he escaped Air Force One during a security hiccup in Turkey involving an apparent Iranian threat.
