Alongside his revelation about smoking, MGK also shared a video of himself and collaborator Trippie Redd performing at New York City’s Irving Plaza.
In the video, he can be seen smoking a cigarette as he captures the cheering crowd with his phone’s front camera.
In February, the 33-year-old rapper and singer-songwriter debuted a massive blackout tattoo spanning across his upper torso and both arms, covering most of his previous tattoos.

The painful process behind Machine Gun Kelly’s tattoo transformation
On April 1, MGK shared an Instagram video documenting the grueling behind-the-scenes process of his tattoo transformation.
"Today starts the day that I start the physical change of my body,” he said, adding, “We’ll see what this turns out to be.”
Over multiple weeks, he endured lengthy tattooing sessions that took a toll on his body.
In his video, his arms can be seen dripping with blood, and at one point, his elbow becomes swollen. “This is the most painful s*** I’ve ever experienced in my life,” he said.
To help his body heal faster, MGK was seen wearing an oxygen mask while sitting in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

Fiancee Megan Fox finds Machine Gun Kelly’s tattoo 'really elegant' and 'ahead of its time'
MGK’s fiancee, Megan Fox, shared her thoughts on the shocking tattoo transformation during an appearance on Alex Cooper’s 'Call Her Daddy' podcast in March 2024.
The actress, 37, said she thought the tattoo was “really elegant” and noted that MGK has a “special story” that is only his to tell.
“But the relationship with the tattoos that he had was very conflicted emotionally, whatever they represented — and I don’t actually know — but he didn’t like to revisit those memories of some of the tattoos that he had and he wanted to get rid of them,” Fox told Cooper.
“It’s like an elevated version of all those tattoos that were pieced together,” Fox continued. “I think it’s really elegant and it’s kind of ahead of its time. I think in 10 years it’ll be a trend.”
Fox also revealed that he didn’t go under anesthesia for the tattoo and said she couldn’t imagine how he “endured that level of pain.”
Megan Fox’s and Machine Gun Kelly's relationship issues
However, a March 22 report from People suggested MGK and Fox’s relationship continues to be bumpy.
Citing sources, the outlet reported, “One day they’re up, the next they’re down.”
The couple began dating in 2020 after meeting on the set of 'Midnight in the Switchgrass'.
In November 2020, Fox said they had a connection of “mythic proportions” and “loving him is like being in love with a tsunami or a forest fire.”
They announced their engagement in January 2022. “That intensity is still there nearly four years into their relationship, but that’s not necessarily “healthy,” said the source according to the report.
“There are still a ton of trust issues between them and it’s very toxic,” the source continued, explaining, "They can’t stay away from each other and there’s a lot of history there, but they also don’t know how to be in a healthy relationship," adding, “They’ll be totally fine, then days later get into a huge blowout fight and not talk for weeks, but then give in and be all lovey-dovey again.”
