Machine Gun Kelly trolled as he gets massive upper body blackout tattoo 'for spiritual purposes'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Machine Gun Kelly's admirers are lamenting the disappearance of his Cleveland-inspired breast tattoos after seeing his massive blackout tattoo, while some are accusing him of desiring to be black.
The Grammy-nominated 'Bloody Valentine' rapper, 33, debuted his latest artwork on social media on Tuesday, February 20, which covered most of his arms and entirely blacked out his upper chest, including his nipples.
The post emerged following concerns expressed on social media about his fiancee Megan Fox's latest appearance after she revealed a fresh sleeve tattoo while at a Grammys viewing party.
With many of them being tributes to friends and other artists, tattoos have become a common sight in the entertainment business. While several tattoos are warmly welcomed, others have drawn criticism for their unusual designs.
Machine Gun Kelly gets massive upper body blackout tattoo
Taking to social media, the 'Bloody Valentine' hitmaker—whose fiance Fox unveiled a striking new look at the People's Choice Awards—debuted a blackout tattoo that covered his entire upper chest.
"For spiritual purposes only," Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, wrote as the picture's caption.
Kelly's upper body is entirely covered in black ink, yet there are still some remnants of his original tattoos visible in the cross symbol engraved over his chest and the paneled gaps along his arms.
The tattoo was designed by Roxx and Cats, who are "both globally recognized black-work-only tattoo artists with over five decades of combined experience," per their official website.
Representatives for Roxx and Cats told the New York Post on Tuesday, "Yes, the tattoo is very permanent. The tattoo was completed over Christmas and NY by ROXX. MGK was the toughest client she’s ever worked with."
Kelly also shared on Instagram Story that '44 needles' were needed for the new ink art. In this session, MGK told her that his previous tattoos were 'chaotic' and no longer fit with his present state of mind.
The rock star had a "spiritual consultation" with his tattoo artist Roxx before to beginning the process, Roxx said to TMZ.
It appeared to be a very difficult treatment, and Roxx said that MGK was the "toughest client she's ever had."
Along with the photo, Roxx posted a caption on her Instagram that read, "Made some art with @machinegunkelly. Never met a tougher one."
Roxx added that the procedure began in mid-December when Kelly regularly showed up for 13 six-hour sessions on four days a week at her exclusive L.A. studio.
Although the project is 'one of the biggest she's done in such a short time', the artist acknowledged that there is more work to be done on the musician.

Internet personality Collin Rugg adressed Kelly's blackout tattoo and wrote in part, "Hopefully he stops at the neckline and doesn't go any higher... Wild."
"This just proves our parents lied to us when they said doodling on our skin would give us ink poisoning," mocked one more X user.
