Internet applauds Machine Gun Kelly for releasing song addressing fiancee Megan Fox's miscarriage
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Machine Gun Kelly opened up about his fiancee Megan Fox’s heartbreaking 2021 miscarriage in his latest song 'Don’t Let Me Go.'
The 33-year-old singer, known by his real name Colson Baker, revisited the rap genre to create a deeply emotional song reflecting on the challenges he has faced in his life.
More on Machine Gun Kelly’s ‘Don’t Let Me Go’
Referring to the time when Fox had the tragic miscarriage, MGK sang, “How do I live with the fact that my hand wasn’t on her stomach when we lost the baby," per Hollywood Life.
He continued, “I don’t get no one to turn to ’cause everyone’s dead in my life that was tryin’ to raise me.”
His emotionally raw song was not only limited to the thoughts of the couple’s lost baby but also focused on his mental breakdown and struggle with thoughts of suicide.
In one verse, he penned, “Lately my thoughts eating me alive / Laying in the bed thinking maybe that hate will finally go away if I’m not alive,” before continuing in another, “I had a breakdown and tatted my entire body except one line.”
The rapper was also seen making the shape of a gun with his hand while pointing it toward his head.
Megan Fox opened up about the miscarriage in 'Good Morning America'
MGK is not the sole parent who is still mourning the loss of the unborn baby.
During a November 2023 interview with 'Good Morning America,' Fox too opened up about the incident and said, “I’d never been through anything like that in my life. I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us, and it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately … trying to navigate 'What does this mean?' and 'Why did this happen?'”
Fox shares her three children with her former husband actor Brian Austin Green. They are parents to three sons, Noah Shannon Green, 10, Bodhi Ransom Green, 9, and Journey River Green, 6, per Harper's Bazaar.
MGK is also a father to his daughter Casie Colson Baker, 14, who he shares with his ex-girlfriend Emma Cannon.
Fox also reflected on the experience of losing her baby in several poems featured in her poetry book 'Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.' She discussed this during her 'Good Morning America' interview, where she was promoting the book, which contains over 70 poems.
In one of the poems, she recalls getting the ultrasound of a baby girl, saying, “There is an ultrasound by your side of the bed, 10 weeks and 1 day … do you think that if she could have, she would have left a suicide note?”
She also wrote about the exact moment she got to know about the unfortunate news, “I want to hold your hand / hear your laugh,” and added, “But now I have to say ‘goodbye.’"
She continued, "I close my eyes and imagine holding you tight against my chest as they rip you from my insides,” and added, “I will pay any price, tell me please, what is the ransom for her soul?”
