WASHINGTON, DC: Senator Lindsey Graham defended GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump's "mentally impaired" comment on Vice President Kamala Harris. Going a step further, he said her policies are "bats*** crazy".

Former president Trump had slammed Harris as "mentally impaired" at the Saturday, September 28, rally in Wisconsin while discussing the Harris-Biden administration’s record on illegal immigration, per the New York Post.

Lindsey Graham told CNN's 'State of the Union' on Sunday, September 29, when asked about Donald Trump’s rhetoric at the Wisconsin rally, "I just think she’s crazy liberal."

"I don’t question her [mental faculties]. I just think the better course to take is to prosecute the case that her policies are destroying the country. They’re crazy liberal."

He added, "I’m not saying she’s crazy. I’m saying your party, your policies are bats**t crazy."

He also noted that Democrats have continuously made similar attacks on Trump in the past.

He told host Jake Tapper, "They call him crazy. [Rep. Nancy] Pelosi wanted to invoke the 25th Amendment. Why don’t you ever talk about that?"

Kamala Harris visited the US-Mexico border during a swing through Douglas on Friday, September 27. This marked her second border visit, the first one taking place in El Paso in June 2021.

However, just before her visit on Friday, new data from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement showed that more than 425,431 non-citizens, who are not in its detention facilities, were convicted criminals, including 222,141 with charges pending.

Out of those,13,099 were convicted of a homicide, 62,231 for assault, 56,533 for drug-related crimes, and 14,301 for burglary, per the official data.

Trump did not hold back and slammed Harris' record on the border. He referred to that data from the ICE during his rally at Wisconsin, and said that it rises to the level of impeachment for "high crimes and misdemeanors", per the outlet.

Trump said in his speech, “Kamala is mentally impaired. If a Republican did what she did, that Republican would be impeached and removed from office, and rightfully so, for high crimes and misdemeanors."

He added, "Joe Biden became mentally impaired. Kamala was born that way. She was born that way. And if you think about it, only a mentally disabled person could have allowed this to happen to our country.”
