PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to call for the impeachment of Vice President Kamala Harris, just weeks before voters are set to head to the polls.

Trump’s latest remarks follow a pattern of attacks on his 2024 presidential opponent, whom he accuses of failing to manage border security effectively.

Donald Trump’s comments come as Kamala Harris' poll numbers solidify in key swing states.

His criticism of the Vice President centers around an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) report on the number of immigrants with criminal records currently in the US.

The ICE data remains unclear on when the 13,000 migrants in question first entered the US, with law enforcement officials stating that many of these individuals crossed into the country during previous administrations, including Trump’s own, according to NBC News.

However, the former president has pinned the blame squarely on Harris, using the report as a springboard to attack her leadership just as the 2024 race enters its final stages.

Donald Trump’s accusations against Kamala Harris

In his Truth Social post, Donald Trump labeled Kamala Harris as "Comrade Kamala" and accused her of allowing thousands of criminals into the US.

"14,000 CONVICTED thugs and slimeballs who have committed MURDER have been allowed to enter our Country, totally unvetted and unchecked, and roam free to KILL AGAIN,” he wrote.

Trump claimed that these migrants were causing “havoc like never seen before” and accused the Vice President of failing to protect the nation.

Without citing any evidence, the former president further charged that Harris had “blood on her hands” for the deaths that he claims have resulted from her handling of the border.

“Kamala is a FOOL to have let this happen to our beautiful USA. It is totally unjustifiable... She should be IMPEACHED for what she has done to our Country!” he added.

ICE report adds complexity to Donald Trump's claims

While Donald Trump’s accusations were inflammatory, the ICE report referenced by the former president presented a more complicated picture, reported NBC News.

Two law enforcement officials, familiar with the data, told the outlet that many of the migrants on ICE’s non-detained docket, including serious criminals, crossed into the US under previous administrations, including Trump’s.

However, Trump seized on the report to bolster his campaign’s narrative against Harris, positioning her as a liability on immigration just weeks before election day, as per Raw Story.

In his Truth Social post, the 78-year-old politician doubled down, writing, “She is the Worst Vice President in History, and the Worst Border Czar in History, and people are dying every day because of her."
