PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump released a campaign video on Monday, August 26, asking for donations from supporters despite being a billionaire, per OK Magazine.

The former president was estimated to be worth a whopping $7.5 billion in March 2024, according to Forbes. Between January 2023 and July 31, 2024, Trump’s campaign committee raised $268.5 million, per Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.

Trump releases new fundraising video for supporters

Trumps said in the new fundraising video, "Whatever you can do to help us out with the fundraising, that would be great. Whatever it is, but only if you have it."

He added, "If you don't have it, don't stretch. Just relax. Because we're doing really well. We're leading in the polls by a lot. We're leading with about everything, including the money."



 

The video was reposted on X by @RpsAgainstTrump with the caption, "'Billionaire' Trump is once again begging for money: Whatever you can do to help us out with the fubraisingthat would be great…But only if you have it. If you don't have it, don't stretch. Just relax because we’re doing really well…We're leading with about everything, including the money…"

Trump donated $6,000 to Kamala Harris between 2011 and 2013, $5,000 was given in 2011 when she first ran for attorney general, and he gave her campaign another $1,000 in 2013, according to OK Magazine.

Trump admitted during his 2016 campaign for the White House, he had donated to 'everybody' in past years, including most of the people he was running against in that election.

He said, "One of them said, 'No, I don’t think you’ve contributed to me.' They found out I did. I’ve given to Democrats. I’ve given to Hillary. I’ve given to everybody, because that was my job. I’ve got to give to them because when I want something I get it. When I call, they kiss my a**. It’s true."

Harris campaign raises more than four times as much as Trump's in July

The Harris campaign ended July with far more cash on hand than Trump, with $219.7 million to Trump’s $151.3 million, and erased an earlier cash advantage that the Trump camp had at the end of June, before President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, according to Forbes.

Moreover, the Harris campaign raised $204.5 million in July whereas the Trump campaign raised $47.5 million, disrupting what was earlier a more evenly-matched cash race. Harris entered the race on July 21 and soon posted fundraising numbers, with her camp reporting $81 million in donations in the first 24 hours of her campaign.

The campaign said on Sunday, August 25, that the Harris For President and allied groups had raised a combined $540 million since President Biden stepped down, including $82 million during the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

Internet slams Trump as he asks for funds from supporters despite being a billionaire

People on the internet slammed Trump as he released a campaign video asking for donations from supporters despite being a billionaire.

A user wrote on X, "Beggging for money from small dollar donors in his fancy private airplane with Fox News on the massive TV in the private airplane" while one added, "Yeah he doesn’t need any money but he thought he’d Beg Anyways".



 



 

A person also stated, "What happened to 'self funded campaign' - remember those days. The grift is astounding" whereas one mentioned, "Trump lost his mojo. He is so done..."
