RIPON, WISCONSIN: Former Republican Representative Liz Cheney labeled Donald Trump "depraved" and mocked his "spray-tanning" while campaigning for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for the first time.

Cheney joined Harris on stage in Ripon, Wisconsin, known as the cradle of the Republican Party, and urged her fellow Republicans to cross party lines and vote for a Democrat she had previously labeled a "radical leftist."

"I tell you, I have never voted for a Democrat, but this year, I am proudly casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris," Cheney stated, then reiterated the Harris-Walz campaign's slogan, "We're not going back."

The recently ousted Wyoming lawmaker recounted her early political involvement, beginning at the age of ten when she sealed envelopes for former president Gerald Ford's reelection campaign.

She cast her first vote for former president Ronald Reagan in 1984, served in both Bush administrations, and held the position of the third-highest-ranking GOP member in the House.

"In other words, I was a Republican even before Donald Trump started spray-tanning," she said, eliciting laughter.

The rest of her speech took on a much more serious tone.

She discussed the notion that "the most conservative of conservative values is fidelity to the Constitution," a principle Trump did not uphold during his attempt to overturn the election four years ago.

“Donald Trump was willing to sacrifice our Capitol, to allow law enforcement officers to be beaten and brutalized in his name, and to violate the law and the Constitution in order to seize power for himself,” Cheney said.

“I don’t care if you are a Democrat or a Republican or an independent. That is depravity, and we must never become numb to it.”

Donald Trump calls Liz Cheney ‘stupid war hawk’

In contrast, Trump launched a harsh insult at Cheney before her appearance on stage with Harris, declaring that the alliance between "stupid war hawk" Cheney and Harris would be "bad for both of them."

Trump said he wasn't overly touched by the two of them when asked about it, "Liz Cheney lost for Congress, she was terrible. Liz Cheney is a stupid war hawk, all she wants to do is shoot missiles at people."

"I really think it hurts. I think frankly, if Kamala... I think they hurt each other! I think they're so bad, both of them," he added, barely able to contain his amusement.

Cheney was emphatic in her support for Harris during the November race against Trump, as expressed on Thursday, October 3.

Internet erupts with praise for Liz Cheney's bold decision

As the news broke on social media, users began commending Cheney for her decision to endorse Harris.

"A true American that I agree very little with AND respect greatly."

Another added, "Beautiful ! World should know the truth."

A third user said, "Totally makes sense. I've always said Kamala's policies are just like Reagan's."

"Putting my politics aside … I cannot imagine how difficult this must be for her … I’m so happy she received a warm welcome," one supporter said.

Another added, "Real American."

A user commented, "Liz Cheney is becoming a ✨."
