PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: As former president Donald Trump inches closer to his 80th birthday, scrutiny over his health intensifies, as per The Daily Beast.

After surviving an assassination attempt in July, Trump promised to release his medical records, yet he has failed to do so, prompting backlash. This reluctance has fueled public criticism, with many branding him a "global embarrassment" for withholding crucial information about his health.

In the wake of the assassination attempt, where Trump was shot in his right ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the former president assured the public that he would release his medical records.

According to The New York Times, he had stated that he would "very gladly" share the details of his health with the public.

However, months later, there is still no comprehensive release of these records, raising concerns about the state of his health as he prepares for another potential term in office.

At 78, Trump is only a few years younger than his rival, President Joe Biden, who will turn 82 next month. Should Trump win the upcoming election, he would surpass Biden as the oldest sitting president in US history.

Despite their ages, neither Biden nor Trump's election opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, have fully disclosed their medical records, leading to growing frustration among voters seeking transparency.

In August, Trump boasted to CBS News about his health, claiming he had achieved a "perfect score" on a medical exam and aced cognitive tests following the shooting.

"I got everything right," he said confidently. "One of the doctors said, ‘I’ve never seen that before, where you get everything right.’ No, I have no problem. I’d go a step further, I think anybody that runs for president, whether they’re 75 or 65 or 45, I think should take a cognitive test."

Despite Trump's reassurances about his cognitive abilities, reports suggest that the former president has been haunted by the attempt on his life.

Vanity Fair quoted a Republican official close to Trump's campaign as saying the ex-president had been fixated on the seven-second clip showing how close he came to being shot in the head. According to the source, Trump "may actually legit have PTSD" from the traumatic event.

While Trump continues to downplay concerns about his health, his campaign has yet to provide any substantial medical documentation. When The New York Times inquired about Trump’s medical records, his campaign only provided a July letter from Congressman Dr Ronny Jackson, Trump’s former physician.

The letter stated that Trump’s ear wound was healing, but offered no additional details on his cognitive health or any follow-up treatment.
