Madonna turns Times Square billboard into live stage with pop-up concert for Pride Month
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Madonna, 67, defied age with her electrifying performance at a pop-up surprise concert in Times Square presented with Grindr on Thursday, June 4, evening.
She turned a Times Square billboard into the live stage for the Pride Month celebration and once again proved why she is the "Queen of Pop." “All right, New York City, are you ready for this? C’mon, gays. Happy Pride!” Madonna said before she began to sing.
A historic moment in Times Square.

Madonna wows in pink corset and blue bra combo
The icon promoted ‘Confessions II’ as she performed for fifteen minutes while rocking a skintight pink corset, which she paired with a frilly bodysuit and a blue bra. Madonna also added a pair of pink arm gloves and matching thigh-highs to her look.
Although her performance was not long, it did come with all the elements of a superhit concert — dancers, a DJ, and a rotating stage. Madonna sang hits like ‘Hung Up’ and ‘I Love New York’ from her original 2005 album 'Confessions on a Dance Floor' as well as added three tracks from ‘Confessions II’.
Madonna announced 'Confessions II' last month
The Thursday performance came days after Madonna shared about her new album — which is the sequel to 2005’s ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’ — on Instagram.
She wrote, “People think that dance music is superficial. But they’ve got it all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place.....it’s a threshold. A ritualistic space where movement......replaces language.”
Continuing further, the pop star noted that her new album is “a love letter to dance music and to all the spaces and communities that create it or enjoy it. The dance floor isn’t about a specific space or building, it’s wherever we gather to dance, celebrate and connect.”
“Thank you for being a part of this moment and for supporting my music. See you on the Dance Floor!” she concluded.
Madonna stunned fans as she performed alongside Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella
Lately, Madonna has been busy promoting her new album. She performed alongside Sabrina Carpenter during her second weekend headlining Coachella. She returned to the festival twenty years after her own headlining set at Coachella in 2006.
The legend sang sections of ‘Vogue’ and ‘Like a Prayer’ with Carpenter. She also thanked the 27-year-old singer for “inviting me on your show,” as she claimed, “Well, I have a few things I want to get off my chest.”
“So, 20 years ago today I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’ part one in America. It was such a thrill — and it’s a thrill to be back. It’s a full circle moment, you know? Very meaningful for me,” Madonna added.
