Mamie Laverock expresses gratitude in heartfelt message as her family shuts down GoFundMe page
VANCOUVER, CANADA: Two months after Mamie Laverock, known for her role in 'When Calls the Heart', faced a serious medical emergency involving a fall from a five-storey building, her family decided to close her GoFundMe campaign.
On July 17, an update on the page, shared by Laverock’s mother Nicole Rockmann and her stepfather Rob Compton, featured a message that seemed to come directly from the actress, expressing her deep appreciation for everyone who had supported the fund.
Laverock is recognized for her portrayal of Rosaleen Sullivan in the Hallmark Channel series 'When Calls the Heart'.

The message from the 20-year-old actress read, “Thank you so much. I don't even know what to say. My heart is full.”
She continued, “Thank you again. I have no words to describe my gratitude. Love you guys. Thank you,” before signing off with MAMIE.”
Rockmann and Compton also expressed their thanks to supporters and announced the family’s choice to conclude the fundraising campaign via social media.
In the July 17 update on the online fundraiser, which surpassed its $30,000 goal by reaching $39,022 (in Canadian dollars), Rockmann and Compton conveyed their gratitude and shared the family’s decision to end the campaign.
"The Fund has now closed. Please know how much you helped this family in our hardest circumstances. Thank you for caring. Warmth, Nicole and Rob," they wrote.
The decision follows the actress' 20th birthday celebration on July 8.
"Mamie moved onto her stomach, pushed herself up and held onto me ... at that moment we realized we could have our first hug," read the post, which was written alongside a photo of the July 9 hug in the actress' hospital room.

Why was Mamie Laverock admitted in hospital?
On May 11, the 19-year-old actress experienced a "medical emergency," but fortunately, her mother, Nicole Compton, managed to get her to the hospital in time.
Her family shared, “We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26th, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories."
“Nicole traveled to Winnipeg to help Mamie, who was having a medical emergency. Nicole was able to get there in time to save her life. Then got her to a hospital in Winnipeg. Mamie has since been transferred to Hospital here in Vancouver,” as per her GoFundMe page.
“Her recovery is unclear at this time but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement,” it read.
“She sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support. We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time,” they added, per Page Six.
