PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: New information has emerged about the armed man who was shot and killed by Secret Service agents outside President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property. Authorities have linked the case to Jeffrey Epstein, revealing that the deceased, Austin Tucker Martin, had become increasingly fixated on the Epstein files. He was also known to be a vocal supporter of Trump.

In the days leading up to the incident, Martin sent a text message that was later recovered. In it, he told a co-worker that others needed to know what more had been uncovered from the Epstein files. He also said that greater awareness should be raised.

Martin worked at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in North Carolina. According to reports, he had grown extremely preoccupied following the latest release of information in the Epstein case.

Recovered Text sheds light on Austin Tucker Martin’s state of mind 

The fatal shooting outside President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property has sent shockwaves across the country. A recently revealed text message sheds light on Austin Tucker Martin’s state of mind in the days leading up to the incident.

According to TMZ, Martin sent a message to a co-worker on February 15, 2026, in which he spoke about Jeffrey Epstein. The message read, "I don't know if you read up on the Epstein Files, but evil is real and unmistakable."

He continued, "The best people like you and I can do is use what little influence we have. Tell other people about what you hear about the Epstein files and what the government is doing about it. Raise awareness."

According to colleagues, he was convinced that authorities were hiding the full truth from the public. He frequently talked about influential figures “getting away with it,” and those beliefs appeared to deepen his anger and frustration.

At the same time, Martin was open about his Christian faith and his political views. According to the publication, he regularly expressed support for Trump. As recently as late last year, he reportedly told colleagues that he believed Trump was a strong leader. 



People who worked alongside Martin told TMZ that his focus on Jeffrey Epstein intensified after the newest batch of documents was released. They said he seemed increasingly disturbed by what he was reading.

Those who knew him personally described him as well-meaning but said he had grown increasingly frustrated in recent months. Much of his concern centered on the economy, as he often complained that young people now need two jobs just to afford moving out and living independently.

Investigation underway after shooting at Mar-a-Lago

In the early hours of Sunday, February 22, Austin Tucker Martin carried a weapon and was fatally shot after breaching the secured perimeter of the Mar-a-Lago property. The Secret Service stated that agents spotted the suspect around 1:30 am near the estate’s north gate. He was described as being in his early 20s.

Officials said the man was carrying a shotgun and also had a fuel can with him. When he entered the restricted area, officers opened fire. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
