MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Sen Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has been called out online after he blasted Joe Biden in a social media post.

The 53-year-old politician tweeted, “Our current President is a demented man propped up by wicked & deranged people willing to destroy our country to remain in power It’s time to fight 🔥with 🔥.”

Trump camp claims he is a ‘political prisoner’

The tweet came with a clip of President Joe Biden moving away from a stage as someone asks, “Mr President, can you tell us sir, [former President Trump] refers to himself as a ‘political prisoner’ and blames you directly, what’s your response to that, sir?”, as reported by The Hill.

Biden did not give any reply and walked away. But at one point he turned back and smiled.

The person who asked the question reportedly referred to an email from the Trump National Committee JFC that read, “Friend: Is this the end of America? I was just convicted in a RIGGED political witch-hunt trial: I DID NOTHING WRONG! They’ve raided my home, arrested me, took my mugshot, AND NOW THEY’VE JUST CONVICTED ME!”

“But with your support at this moment in history, WE WILL WIN BACK THE WHITE HOUSE AND MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” it added.

Marco Rubio slams court’s verdict

This came after Trump was convicted in the hush money trial on Thursday, May 30.

Condemning the court’s decision on Fox News’ ‘Hannity’, Rubio said, “I think it’s terrible. I think what this shows today, is that they can go after a former president with a ridiculous charge like this and gain a conviction, they can go after anybody.”

He also asserted, “And most people can’t afford to fight this stuff off.”

Internet reacts to Marco Rubio’s remarks on Joe Biden

Meanwhile, many people online attacked Rubio for his dig at Biden.

An individual wrote on X, “You said this about Trump in 2016 - nobody believes a word you say because it means nothing. You have no core values or beliefs other than personal political ambition and quest to be close to power. Good luck with that, by the way.”

The second individual wrote, “Marco Rubio's new campaign slogan is ‘Treason First’.”

“Demented and criminal is Trump. You know better little Marco,” the third one remarked.

The fourth one stated, “Does Marco Rubio even have a shred of credibility left? His weak attempt at deflection is an embarrassment. First Biden is a diabolical genius who engineered Jan 6 and Trump's indictments. Now he says Biden is ‘demented’ and ‘propped up by wicked & deranged people.’ Like who? Name one Marco and see how fast you're sued. The fact is Rubio can't keep his Maga lies straight.”

“Donald Trump isn't worth lying for bro. I know what are you doing and it's not working,” the fifth one added.
