Ryan Hurd gets child support along with split custody of son Hayes

The former couple has been granted joint custody of their son Hayes. Hurd will also be getting $2100 in child support each month.

After Maren decided to leave country music after feeling ‘very, very distanced’ from the industry and its politics in September, he praised her decision online.

"She deserves to be celebrated, not just tolerated. I’m so sick of watching my wife get the s--- kicked out of her by the internet. I’m sick of every talking head having some kind of stupid opinion about what she says. It’s the same every time, why are you surprised when she calls out something racist or homophobic, I’m sick of people getting rewarded for it," he wrote at the time.

"She deserves a little sunshine for the burden she has carried for every artist and fan that feels the same way. I can’t wait for that first tour and to see all of the smiling and beautiful people who needed these songs and and also need HER. I can’t wait to make music that follows the same path, whatever that is. Love you, MM. Keep on keepin’ on," he added.

How did Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris meet?

Morris and Hurd started dating in December 2015. "We had been friends for only a couple of years, but there was always this writing chemistry in the room, and eventually, the timing of it was undeniable. We had such a foundation built off writing so many songs over the years that we were like, 'Why are we avoiding this?'" Morris told People back then.

Maren hinted at a possible split and said, "It was probably the hardest part of our relationship," she said to Esquire before Hayes came. "We went on our honeymoon, and then I immediately went on this gigantic tour opening for Niall Horan. It was more international touring than I had ever done. And I was gone more than I had ever been on any other tour," she added.
