Nick Cannon opens up about his children's dating lives
Both parents are involved in parenting their children. In May, the actor shared during an episode of the ‘TMZ podcast’ that his “son has been dating and I’ve allowed it. I’ve encouraged it.”
But the rule is not the same for Moroccan's sister Monroe.
“Absolutely not. It’s absolutely a double standard. You have to because first of all — and I know I get in trouble a lot because I say things with my chest — but, there is a difference when parenting a son and when parenting a daughter,” Cannon explained.
The comedian added, “I am more protective of my daughter because there’s things out there that I have to protect my daughter from. Like, as we know, there’s certain types of individuals that you want to keep your daughter away from. My son, it’s a different conversation when he’s going out into the dating world.”

During the conversation, the rapper, who is the father of 12 children with six different women, also admitted that he’s “preparing” his daughter for college.
“I know that’s out of my control. I can’t do nothing about it. Hopefully we’re still having all these open conversations. My daughter tells me any and everything,” he said, before noting, “Even though I’m apprehensive, if you can explain it to me — if we can have a conversation about it, I'm for it because I know when you get to college, I want you to have all the questions answered and you make the best decisions possible.”
Mariah Carey wants her children to learn through experience
Meanwhile, Carey has spoken about the importance of allowing her children to learn life lessons through their own experiences.
“Because I grew up without that privilege and they need to understand that it is so important to try your hardest and do your best. It's one of my greatest honors to watch them shine,” Carey had reportedly said once.
