WASHINGTON, DC: A day after reports emerged that President Donald Trump criticized Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, warning him to be careful or else he might be left alone, conservative commentator and Fox News host Mark Levin publicly condemned Trump for his comments.

Levin described Trump's stance as desperate in his attempts to secure a deal with Iran.

A day earlier, it was revealed that Trump told Netanyahu, "You better be very careful with what you do because you might soon be left alone against Iran."

Mark Levin aims for Trump’s Iran deal push

On Monday, June 8, during his syndicated radio program, Mark Levin expressed his disapproval of Donald Trump's actions.

He described Trump as being desperate to negotiate with Tehran and criticized him for frequently speaking with left-wing reporters, which led to the revelation of a confidential conversation between him and Netanyahu.

“I don’t know why the president of the United States feels the need to keep going to left-wing reporters and talking about confidential conversations he has with the prime minister of Israel,” Levin said.

“And I don’t know why he keeps bashing the Prime Minister of Israel, who’s trying to protect his country and his own people.”

He then revisited the long-standing military and intelligence coordination between Washington and Tel Aviv.

He added, “Just a few weeks ago, their fighter jets were fighting right alongside ours. The Mossad was working with the CIA. And of course, the prime minister was working with the resident in what was a spectacular military operation.”

Levin alleges Trump over Axios leaks

Levin said Axios correspondent Barak Ravid has become Trump’s go-to guy for leaks. He also said it was “ridiculous” for Trump to press Israel to fight a “defensive war.”

“I know the president is deeply desperate for a deal. The Iranians know he’s deeply desperate for a deal. The whole world knows he’s deeply desperate for a deal. Got it,” Levin said. “But the problem is, the state of Israel is in the neighborhood.”

He then said a moment later, “I don’t know why we beat up on an ally like this, after praising them and embracing them and supporting them.”

Trump fumes at Netanyahu over Lebanon strikes

Levin’s comments came after  Axios correspondent Barak Ravid reported Trump “lashed out” at Netanyahu over Israel’s military operation in Lebanon last week.

The reported warning came after both Israel and Iran said they had halted military attacks, raising hopes that a fragile ceasefire could hold following days of missile exchanges.

Ravid also reported that last week, Trump told him he would press Netanyahu “not to retaliate” after Iran fired missiles at Israel.

Trump also said that Israel would have no choice but to accept whatever deal he finalizes with Iran.

“I call the shots. I call all the shots,” Trump said. “[Netanyahu] doesn’t call the shots.”
