Mark Ruffalo blasts Scott Jennings over CNN on-air curse, says ‘Trump melts down, enablers do too’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor Mark Ruffalo on Friday, May 1, criticized CNN analyst Scott Jennings after tense on-air exchange in which the commentator lost his temper during a live panel discussion involving journalist Adam Mockler.
Ruffalo took aim at Jennings following the viral segment from ‘CNN NewsNight With Abby Phillip’, where the political analyst clashed with the 23-year-old MeidasTouch podcaster during a heated debate on US policy and the war with Iran.
Scott gets very hot and bothered by a smart man that’s younger than him. It is hilarious how entitled and superior he acts when you bring up real cogent points. Or makes slights about your masculinity like a man who is worried about his own. But like all MAGA’s they demand… https://t.co/M5Nf8GuhKq

Mark Ruffalo slams Scott Jennings over CNN on-air outburst during live debate
Mark Ruffalo addressed the incident on X, sharply criticizing Jennings' conduct and framing it as part of a broader pattern in political discourse.
“Scott gets very hot and bothered by a smart man that’s younger than him,” Ruffalo wrote while quote-tweeting commentary related to the exchange.
He added, “It is hilarious how entitled and superior he acts when you bring up real cogent points. Or makes slights about your masculinity like a man who is worried about his own. But like all MAGA’s they demand agreement without earning it and resort to violence when they are being bested on ideas. Good job staying on point and composed.”
Ruffalo further extended his criticism to what he described as a lack of accountability among political figures aligned with former President Donald Trump, saying, “As Trump melts down so do his enablers.”
He continued, “One day he will pretend he was always against this. Like all the neocon hacks of Iraq. And all the boosters for the genocide against the Palestinian people. And the Epstein Class. They only follow power and have no real moral center.”
Scott Jennings and Adam Mockler clash during CNN Iran debate turns heated on air
The confrontation unfolded during a segment discussing the ongoing war with Iran, where Jennings and Mockler sharply disagreed over US involvement and political outcomes.
Mockler pressed Jennings directly, asking, “The purpose of a war is to extract political concessions, can you name a single political concession we’ve gotten?”
Jennings pushed back, responding, “Eight weeks is endless to you?” as tensions escalated on set.
The exchange grew more heated when Jennings snapped and used profanity during the discussion, prompting immediate intervention from host Abby Phillip.
At one point, Jennings also said, “Get your hand out of my face, first of all,” as the argument intensified on live television.
Mockler later reflected on the segment, saying Jennings “throws a personal jab… then folds the second he gets pressed,” arguing that the analyst struggles to maintain composure under pressure.
