LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Mark Ruffalo's recent social media critique of former President Donald Trump and the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 has sparked widespread attention online.

In a viral post, the 'Avengers' star condemned the initiative as a threat akin to "white Christian nationalism," drawing parallels to extremist agendas.

Project 2025: reshaping America's future

Project 2025, developed by the conservative think tank, aims to reshape the federal government by implementing conservative policies across various sectors.

It proposes significant changes such as restructuring federal agencies to align with conservative values and rolling back protections in areas like reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ issues.

'Empire' star Taraji P Henson echoed Ruffalo's condemnation at the BET Awards, where she denounced the initiative as harmful to vulnerable communities. Henson's sentiments were shared widely on social media, amplifying concerns about the project's potential impact on civil liberties and social justice.

In his pointed criticism, Ruffalo accused Project 2025 of promoting an agenda that threatens fundamental freedoms, including reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and religious freedom. He likened its implications to an authoritarian regime, stating:

"Project 2025 is not a game, it's white Christian nationalism. It is the Sharia Law of the 'Christian' crazy people who aren't Christian at all but want to control every aspect of your life through their narrow and exclusionary interpretation of Christ's egalitarian, inclusive, and kindly teachings."

"Don't be fooled by Project 2025's extremist and perverse ideology," the politically outspoken actor continued. "Trump is bringing it to all our lives: abortion, LGBTQIA+ rights, freedom of expression, freedom of religion, freedom of education, and equality between the races and genders—GONE. Forced birth and forced religion. Trump's American Taliban."

Public backlash and social media firestorm

The actor's remarks have resonated with millions online, garnering over 3 million views and prompting discussions about the future of governance in the United States.

Critics argue that Project 2025 represents a dangerous shift towards ideological extremism and executive overreach, potentially undermining democratic principles and societal progress.

"While hosting Sunday's BET Awards, Taraji P Henson expressed her distaste for the plan, saying: 'They are attacking our most vulnerable citizens. The Project 2025 plan is not a game,'" reported the Human Rights Campaign, sharing Henson's comments on social media. "Preach @TarajiPHenson! Project 2025 is a REAL threat to all of us. Every part of it is a wrecking ball for our lives, our families, and our rights."
