MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that he will not endorse either President Joe Biden or former president Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

In an interview with Bloomberg's Emily Chang, Zuckerberg referred to his previous political involvement and said, “I’ve done some stuff personally in the past."

"I’m not planning on doing that this time, and that includes not endorsing either of the candidates," he added.

Mark Zuckerberg's stance contrast's recent praise of Donald Trump

Despite not endorsing any candidate, Mark Zuckerberg expressed admiration for Donald Trump's resilience following the assassination attempt and called the former president a "badass."

Speaking to Chang, Zuckerberg said, “Seeing Donald Trump get up after getting shot in the face and pump his fist in the air with the American flag is one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen in my life."

“On some level as an American, it’s like hard to not get kind of emotional about that spirit and that fight, and I think that that’s why a lot of people like the guy,” he added.

Tech giants take sides in 2024 presidential election

While Mark Zuckerberg opted for neutrality, other prominent tech figures have taken a definitive stance.

Recently, billionaire Elon Musk officially endorsed Trump following the attempted assassination against the former president at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, according to The Hill.

Several Democratic donors such as Sequoia Capital partner Shaun Maguire and Palantir adviser Jacob Helberg have shifted their stance as they have joined a growing number of conservatives in traditionally liberal Silicon Valley.

This shift indicates a changing political landscape in the tech industry.

Internet mocks Mark Zuckerberg for not endorsing either Joe Biden or Donald Trump

As Mark Zuckerberg announced that he would not be endorsing either Joe Biden or Donald Trump in the November election, netizens trolled the Meta CEO for his neutrality in his stance.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "It’s not being smart, it is being scared. Afraid to be on either side if it loses" while another tweeted, "Coward."

"You know in your heart of hearts what he was saying when he called Trump a badass. He just doesn’t have the balls to say it out loud," a netizen commented while another wrote, "Good! Trump wouldn't want his endorsement! He's #Evil."

"Do not endorse Trump. Zuckerberg is one of the most hated men in America. We don't need his bad mojo," a netizen tweeted.
