Perry died in October 2023 at the age of 54, and David's sister Zoe Bowick Levine died in September 2026 at the age of 46.
In his Facebook post, David referred to the upcoming documentary, which focuses on the late actor. He revealed that he would appear briefly in the series, while his wife, Mia, would feature more extensively.
"There's a documentary about my brother-in-law Matthew Perry coming out on Netflix Tuesday. I'm in it very briefly, but my lovely wife is in it quite a bit."
David Bowick calls Matthew Perry his brother
David admitted that he had not spoken much publicly about Perry since his death. Reflecting on their relationship, he explained how the actor had been more than the star recognized by millions of fans.

"He was someone the whole world felt like they knew, but to me, he was just my brother. He always started our conversations with 'Hey, brother,'" he wrote.
Along with his post, David shared a photograph from his wedding to Mia, featuring Perry and Zoe standing alongside the couple.
"This is Matthew and my sister Zoe at our wedding. Now they're both gone. It's a strange thing to watch the world remember someone while you're still trying to figure out how to live without the people you remember them with."
David Bowick reveals his contribution to Matthew Perry's documentary
David, a music producer and sound designer, also revealed that he had been asked to compose music for the upcoming documentary.
"I was asked to write some music for the documentary, and it meant a lot to be able to contribute a small piece to tell his story. So if you watch, don't skip the credits on episodes 1 and 2. Those are mine."

Concluding his statement, he added, "I don't have anything particularly profound to say. I just wanted to share this picture of two people I wish were still here."
Matthew Perry's sister Mia reflects on his life and struggles
Meanwhile, in the trailer for the upcoming documentary, which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on October 27, Mia reflected on her brother's life and the challenges he faced.
"All great stories have comedy and tragedy in them, and that certainly was Matthew's story," she said.
Mia also spoke about the loneliness Perry experienced and his efforts to overcome addiction.
"My brother would talk about that feeling of emptiness or loneliness that he couldn't quite fill... He spent $7 million trying to get sober. That's how seriously he took his disease," she added.
