Matthew Perry's stepfather Keith Morrison warns accused in his son's death: 'You're going down, baby'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Matthew Perry’s family shared heartfelt memories with his son and hopes for justice in an interview marking the first anniversary of his death on October 28, 2023.
The 'Friends' star, who died at the age of 54 from the effects of ketamine and drowning at his Los Angeles home, was remembered by his family as deeply lonely despite his bright spirit.

The interview aired in full on NBC’s 'Today' show on October 28, 2024, and comes as five people face charges in connection with Matthew Perry’s death.
Among those charged are Jasveen Sangha, known as the 'Ketamine Queen of Los Angeles,' Dr Salvador Plasencia, Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s live-in assistant Eric Fleming, and Dr Mark Chavez.
Keith Morrison, Perry’s stepfather, voiced strong feelings on the situation, hoping it would send a warning to those involved in the supply of harmful substances.
“What I’m hoping, and I think the agencies that got involved in this are hoping, is that people who have put themselves in the business of supplying people with the drugs that will kill them are now on notice,” Morrison said.

He warned them by saying, “You’re going down, baby.”
Between September and October 2023, Plasencia, Chavez, and Iwamasa allegedly distributed about 20 vials of ketamine to Perry for $55,000.
If convicted, Sangha and one of the doctors are set to go to trial next year and could face years behind bars.
Suzanne Perry reflects on her son’s loneliness and inner struggles
Suzanne Morrison, Matthew Perry’s mother, shared insights into his struggles with loneliness despite his reputation for humor and charm.
“But it must be said, I think that he was also very lonely in his soul,” Suzanne shared. Meanwhile, Morrison described his stepson’s ability to “light up the room," the ability he described Perry was born in with "spades."
Reflecting on her heartache, Suzanne expressed her sadness at being unable to help him overcome his struggles.
“I’m a very lucky woman, but there was one glitch. There was one problem that I couldn’t conquer,” she said, adding “I couldn’t help him.”
She urged others who have experienced similar losses not to blame themselves. “You’ve got to stop blaming yourself because it tears you up," she said, according to the New York Post.
Matthew Perry’s close family ties and upcoming trial details
Suzanne Morrison, who previously served as press secretary to former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, has four children with Morrison - Caitlin, Emily, Will, and Madeleine. Matthew also had a half-sister, Maria Perry, the daughter of his father, John Bennett Perry, and his second wife, Debbie.
Morrison also remembered that Matthew was “often [a] very sad guy,” despite his naturally cheerful disposition.
