NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Maureen Callahan, an entertainment journalist and podcaster, appeared on 'The Megyn Kelly Show' podcast on Friday, May 8 and brought up a past incident involving actor Ryan Reynolds.

During the show, she spoke about alleged incidents from Reynolds' teenage years, saying he reportedly “burned down his elementary school” in Canada, where he grew up. Callahan also claimed that he had allegedly admitted to setting fire to a tree, and added that the 'Deadpool' actor even confessed to the incident in a past interview.

Maureen Callahan claims Ryan Reynolds committed arson as a teen

On Kelly's podcast, Callahan called Reynolds a "psycho arsonist" and claimed that the actor set his school on fire during his teenage years. "When Ryan Reynolds was a teenage boy, he burned down his elementary school in Canada to the ground. This was an arson fire. He set it in the middle of the night."

"This school was like over a hundred years old. He’s a psychopath I believe... he has given varying accounts of this story. In one, he just meant to set fire to, like a wing of it... There’s another version of this story in which he just was, he set fire to a tree."

"When I hear that I could cry... like who would set fire to a tree? To a living thing," the journalist added.

To back her claims, Callahan stated that if any viewers doubted her account, she had proof. The podcaster also said she had reviewed the reporting on her own channel and noted that the school fire was mentioned on the front page of a Canadian publication.

She continued, "Ten years later, he gives another interview. He’s not a huge star yet, but he’s coming up. And he’s asked about this, and we have the reporting as well. We have shown the physical paper, he says, 'Yeah, you know, I did do that, you know, I just got away with it, and I just hope some poor schmuck isn’t sitting in jail for what I did.'"

Callahan seemingly pointed to a discussion on her podcast, 'The Nerve,' where she cited the front page of a 1987 newspaper, which, she claimed, referenced the incident of Reynolds setting fire to the school. She additionally cited a 2004 interview with Reynolds published in the 'Arizona Daily Star,' where it was reported that he once "burned down a wing of his elementary school."

On 'The Megyn Kelly Show,' Kelly and Callahan were talking about the legal case involving actress Blake Lively and actor-director Justin Baldoni related to the movie 'It Ends With Us.' They were discussing the long legal fight and everything around it.

During this conversation, Callahan also mentioned Reynolds, who has been married to Lively since 2012, and addressed his allegedly problematic teenage years. The discussion is now going viral on social media, and many people are reacting to it. However, one may note that Reynolds is not directly involved in the Lively and Baldoni legal case.
