Meghan McCain dubs former 'The View' co-hosts 'vultures', claims they were 'scared' of Tulsi Gabbard
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Meghan McCain recently targeted her former colleagues on 'The View' while sharing her experience with political figure Tulsi Gabbard during a live event in Pennsylvania.
The political commentator and daughter of the late Senator John McCain reflected on their shared history when Gabbard reminded her of their previous appearance on the talk show.
Tulsi Gabbard and Meghan McCain reflect on 'The View' atmosphere
“Can I just say the last time we were on a stage together was when you were on The View?” Tulsi Gabbard remarked at the Stand With Women event in Philadelphia on October 27.
This prompted McCain to share her thoughts on the atmosphere of the show during Gabbard's appearance, remarking, “They were so scared of her,” which elicited boos from the audience when Gabbard mentioned the talk show.
McCain elaborated on her experience, recalling, “Tulsi and I were just starting to become friends. I remember being like, I’m really going to have to do defense for this woman here because they’re going to be so mean to her."
"You can look it up, it was like vultures. We really bonded afterward, but you took Joy [Behar] to task so hard that her husband took a picture of me, and I’m literally like [screaming] afterward,” she added.
Gabbard shared a light-hearted moment, stating, “During the commercial break right after that, Meghan literally ran over, jumping up and down with joy,” as she praised McCain for standing her ground. “Joyful warrior, this one!”
Meghan McCain's ongoing criticism of former 'The View' colleagues
This exchange is the latest instance of Meghan McCain's ongoing criticisms of her former 'The View' colleagues, which she has voiced in interviews, essays, and her 'Citizen McCain' podcast since leaving the show in 2021.
She previously referred to the current hosts as “crazy old people” during a tirade in December 2023.
McCain's time on 'The View' was characterized by frequent clashes, especially with Behar and Whoopi Goldberg, who once famously told McCain to “please stop talking” during a heated debate.
Speculation about McCain's relationship with her former co-hosts continues to be high; last year, Sara Haines made a vague comment about a co-host who made the others feel "uncomfortable," leading many to believe she was referring to McCain.
In a recent interview about her new book, 'Summer on Highland Beach', Sunny Hostin humorously addressed McCain's unfollowing of her on Instagram, stating, “I didn’t know anything happened. I guess I’ll give her a call. Maybe she broke up with me and I don’t know it.”
