Megyn Kelly slams Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski as ‘faux journalists’ after they meet Donald Trump
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Megyn Kelly ripped MSNBC 'Morning Joe' hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski and called them "dishonest jokes" as they claimed on their show on Monday, November 18, that they met President-elect Donald Trump in Florida.
Both Scarborough, 61, and Brzezinski, 57, have repeatedly slammed Trump for years and also labeled him a "racist" and "fascist" before his Election Day win against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, reported the New York Post.
Megyn Kelly rips 'faux journalists' Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski for meeting Donald Trump
During her Sirius XM show, Megyn Kelly took a dig at the duo and said, "I searched for a way to respond appropriately, and I called on my 10 years as a litigator in addition to my now 20 as a journalist. And I think I found the perfect phrase: Go f*** yourselves. Go f*** yourselves, you dishonest jokes of faux journalists."
She continued, "What an absurd farce that was, Glenn [Greenwald]. They-, Which one was insincere? He’s Hitler? Or now we’re going to speak truth to power and find a way of speaking to and working with Donald Trump? Which one was a lie?"
She made the remarks after playing clips of the co-hosts explaining to their 'Morning Joe' audience that while they agreed to "restart communications", they will "continue to speak truth to power and push back hard when called for", according to Mediaite.
Kelly later said in the show, "They’re grifters. These two, yes, worked day and night to get Trump the nomination back in ’15-’16. They embarrassed themselves and sacrificed any pretense of journalistic ethics in doing it. It was true bootlicking."
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski meet Donald Trump
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are known for being two of Donald Trump's fiercest critics ever since he first took office, a complete reversal of the relationship they had with him during the GOP primary in 2016, according to Fox News.
Brzezinski said that their meeting with Trump on Friday, November 19, was the first in seven years, while Scarborough added that they didn't see "eye to eye on a lot of issues, and we told him so."
Brzezinski said, "For those asking why we would go speak to the president-elect during such fraught times, especially between us, I guess I would ask back – why wouldn’t we?"
She continued, "Five years of political warfare has deeply divided Washington and the country. We have been as clear as we know how in expressing our deep concerns about President Trump’s actions and words in the coarsening of public debate."
Brzezinski added, "But for nearly 80 million Americans, election denialism, public trials, January 6, were not as important as the issues that moved them to send Donald Trump back to the White House with their vote. Joe and I realize it’s time to do something different, and that starts with not only talking about Donald Trump but also talking with him."
Nikki Haley and others troll 'Morning Joe' hosts
Former GOP presidential hopeful Nikki Haley slammed the 'Morning Joe' hosts after they revealed they had met Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
She wrote on X, "Let’s be clear, Joe and Mika didn’t suddenly see the light, they saw their ratings. They realized they needed Trump for their survival."

'Daily Show' host Jon Stewart also ripped the couple and played a clip of Brzezinski saying, “For those asking why we would go speak to the president-elect during such fraught times, especially between us, I guess I would ask back — why wouldn’t we?”
Stewart also slammed congressional Democrats who have suddenly softened their stance on Trump since his presidential election win. He said, "I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Republicans are playing chess, and the Democrats are in the nurse’s office because they glued their b***s to their thighs."
An MSNBC staffer also slammed the duo, according to Fox News. "Cowardice. Doing exactly what [anti-Trump historian] Tim Snyder warns on our air not to do: obey in advance. It’s disgusting but frankly unsurprising," the staffer said.
