WASHINGTON, DC: After making pro-abortion rights remarks in her memoir, contrary to Donald Trump's stance on the matter, Melania Trump is reportedly on the same page as her husband regarding another important issue.

The former first lady, like JK Rowling, believes that transgender women should not be allowed in female sports, as per Daily Mail.

Melania shared her thoughts about trans women competing in female sports in her memoir ‘Melania’, which was released on Tuesday, October 8.

Melania Trump feels trans women in female sports affect ‘fairness in competition’

In her recently released memoir, Melania Trump reportedly wrote, “Today, some groups attempt to impose their ideologies on everyone, deepening the divisions in our society.”

She continued, “One example is the ongoing debate over trans inclusion in sports, specifically when male-born athletes who identify as female compete against women."

“Male bodies generally have physical advantages – muscle strength, height, bone density, and lung capacity – that can affect fairness in competition, even at the high school level. Some argue that the number of trans-athletes is low, but even one can upset the balance in a female league or tournament due to these physical advantages.”

“High school athletes often dedicate years to training with the hope of being recruited by universities. Seeing that dream collapse is an unnecessary and avoidable consequence,” she stated.

Melania added, “This issue also has broader implications, including the loss of future earning potential as professional athletes and a potential setback for equal pay in sports.”

However, the mother-of-one also asserted that she “fully supports the LGBTQIA+ community.”

“As many of you may know, I fully support the LGBTQIA+ community. But we must also ensure that our female athletes are protected and respected,” she mentioned in her book.

Donald Trump attacks Kamala Harris for supporting trans rights

This revelation comes as Melania's husband Donald Trump in the past has repeatedly slammed trans women participating in female sports.

While accepting the GOP presidential nomination in July, he said, as reported by Fox News, “We will not have men playing in women’s sports, that will end immediately.”

Also, recently Trump’s campaign released two ads with the same tagline that reads, “Kamala is for they/them; President Trump is for you,” as per NBC News.

JK Rowling spoke against ‘erasing the concept of sex’

'Harry Potter' author JK Rowling is always in the news for her controversial comments about transgenders.

In 2020, she said, “If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth.”

“I respect every trans person’s right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them. I’d march with you if you were discriminated against on the basis of being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it’s hateful to say so,” the author added at the time.

Even last month, the ‘Harry Potter’ writer went after 51-year-old Valentina Petrillo, an Italian Paralympic sprinter, who is a visually impaired transgender.

On X, she posted, “Why all the anger about the inspirational Petrillo? The cheat community has never had this kind of visibility! Out and proud cheats like Petrillo prove the era of cheat-shaming is over. What a role model! I say we give Lance Armstrong his medals back and move on. #Cheats #NoShame.”

Melania Trump's pro-choice abortion stance

Melania Trump’s latest admission about trans athletes came after an excerpt from her book revealed that she is pro-choice and pro-abortion rights. The excerpt read, “It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government.”

“Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman's fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes,” she asserted in the memoir.
