Melania Trump brings AI-powered humanoid robot to her Fostering the Future Summit at White House
WASHINGTON, DC: Melania Trump began the second day of her "Fostering the Future Summit" at White House by bringing a special guest — an AI-powered humanoid robot. As the first lady entered the East Room, she addressed the attendees, saying, “Our mission, to empower children through technology and education, is achievable.”
Continuing further, she noted, “I encourage each of you to take a proactive step after this inaugural summit. Pledge to host a regional meeting. Collaborate with the private sector. Unlock access to tech for those who require assistance.”
Robot introduces itself as 'a humanoid built in the US'
The robot greeted the attendees and introduced itself as “Figure 3, a humanoid built in the United States of America.”
“I am grateful to be part of this historic movement to empower children with technology and education. Welcome,” it added. The robot also showed off its skills by saying welcome in 11 different languages — English, Bengali, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Japanese, Hebrew, Slovene, Ukrainian, and Georgian.
Melania Trump stresses importance of 'knowledge' as she encourages use of new technology
Melania then thanked the humanoid robot as she stated, “It's fair to state, you are my first American-made humanoid guest in the White House.”
The event was attended by over 40 leaders’ spouses around the world, including Olena Zelenska, the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Brigitte Macron, the spouse of French President Emmanuel Macron, and Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
During the summit, Melania, however, pointed out that technology should be used with caution.
“We must balance our tech optimism with caution. The safety of our next generation is always paramount. Knowledge is the foundation of civilization, but although academia is interesting, business is compelling,” the former model added.
Melania also urged the attendees to encourage and inspire children “to build new platforms, create new industries, and optimize production across all sectors, from media and fashion to health and defense.” “Let's foster the future together,” she concluded.
