PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Melania Trump has an embarrassing nickname for her only son, Barron Trump, reflecting on his father, Donald Trump's character traits.

The former first lady once referred to the now 18-year-old as a "mini-Donald."

The nickname is in stark contrast to Barron's stature, who towers over his father and mother at 6 foot 7 inches in height. Despite his relative absence from the spotlight, he recently made headlines after kickstarting college at New York University's Stern School of Business.

Melania Trump says Barron resembles his father's character

Barron Trump's associations with his real estate mogul father are less than those of his elder half-siblings, yet Melania Trump was quick to notice how much he resembled Donald's character.

"Sometimes I call him little Donald. He is a mixture of us in looks, but his personality is why I call him little Donald," the former FLOTUS once told Parenting magazine, as per the website Romper.

According to her, Barron was a "very strong-minded, very special, smart boy. He is independent and opinionated and knows exactly what he wants," which reflected the traits of his 78-year-old father.

In a 2013 interview with ABC News, Melania revealed she would often call her son "mini-Donald."

"He doesn't mind putting on [a suit]-but not every day- and he likes to dress up in a tie sometimes like Daddy," she said. "He has a lot of energy and is very cute. I call him 'Mini-Donald'. He's my priority," Melania added.

Barron Trump is a 'businessman and golfer' like his father

The 45th president is well known for his passion for golf. Donald Trump, the owner of multiple golf courses across the globe, certainly passed on his love for the game to Barron.

In a 2012 interview for Parenting magazine, Melania revealed Barron's interests as a child, noting, "When he was 5 years old, he wanted to be like daddy: a businessman and golfer. He loves to build something and tear it down and build something else."

She repeated his interests in an interview with People in 2020, saying her son wanted to be "a golfer, a businessman, a pilot."

In April 2021, Barron was spotted with his father enjoying a game of golf together at the Trump International Golf Club near the luxurious Mar-a-Lago resort in West Palm Beach, as per Daily Mail.

Throughout his life, the teenager has experienced a lavish lifestyle, having his own floor at the Trump Tower that had a nursery, living room, kitchen, and accommodations for his nannies.

At a recent Mar-a-Lago event attended by celebrities, including Patrick Bet David, Adam Sosnick, Jesse Watters, and Vincent Oshana, Barron joked, "Who would ever eat food with a silver spoon? Mine was gold."
