NEW CANAAN, CONNECTICUT: During the recent court trial involving Michelle Troconis in connection to the death of Jennifer Dulos, jurors were presented with blood-spattered items recovered in the days following her demise.
For context, Fotis Dulos had previously been accused of killing his wife Jennifer in May 2019 but he took his own life, leaving his girlfriend and socialite, Michelle Troconis to face the allegations alone.
Notably, Troconis is on trial for her alleged involvement in helping Fotis conceal evidence of his crime. Troconis reportedly joined Fotis in his Ford Raptor truck as he traveled through Hartford, disposing of evidence in various trash cans.
Additional details regarding the concealed evidence have emerged during the trial, as per Dailymail.
Jurors were presented with blood-stained evidence during Michelle's trial
On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, jurors at Michelle Troconis' trial were presented with blood-soaked evidence, including a Vineyard Vines shirt, a white T-shirt, a poncho, black gloves, and a white bath towel. However, she denied the charges leveled against her, which include conspiracy to commit murder, evidence tampering, and hindering prosecution.
Furthermore, on the eighth day of her trial, state prosecutors displayed to jurors various bloodied items discovered inside trash cans on Albany Avenue in Hartford by Connecticut State Police Sergeant Kevin Duggan. Duggan claimed to have collected these items on May 30, 2019, six days after Jennifer's disappearance.
Jurors were also shown a blood-soaked bra and towel that were once white, zip ties, a striped black and white long-sleeved shirt, a razor blade, and a screwdriver.
Duggan stated that each of these items was stained with a 'blood-like substance' and was sent to labs for further investigation. According to the police, Fotis and Troconis disposed of 30 bags of items, and Jennifer's blood was detected on some of the objects found in the trash cans.
What did Dulos family's nanny Lauren Almeida say?
During the earlier trial related to Jennifer's death, the Dulos family's nanny, Lauran Almeida, 32, provided revealing insights into the private lives of the affluent Dulos family, recounting family vacations to upscale ski and beach resorts.
She testified that initially, the Dulos parents were cordial to each other, but their relationship soured. When Jennifer discovered Fotis' affair with Troconis in March 2017, things took a turn for the worse.
Almeida stated that Fotis often intimidated Jennifer, and she became so fearful that she secretly fled their family home in Farmington with their five children to file for divorce from the safety of a five-star hotel in Manhattan, where she also hired a bodyguard.
Almeida also recalled having lunch in Jennifer's kitchen with her children just hours after she vanished, oblivious to the small bloodstains in the room that would later become a crime scene.
