BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: Boston Democratic mayor Michelle Wu recently made the headlines after her aide Denise DosSantos sent a holiday party invite to all members of the Boston City Council for an “Electeds of Color Holiday Party”.

Wu has since claimed it was an “honest mistake.” Fox News anchor Sean Hannity shared his report on the same and revealed more details of the incident along with the statement made by Wu after she was “in hot water".

After Hannity questioned Wu’s “honest mistake” on social media, the Boston Mayor continued to face the internet's wrath.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity wrote, “HONEST MISTAKE? Boston Mayor Michelle Wu Defends 'Electeds of Color' Holiday Party.”



 

He then quoted part of Michelle Wu’s statement which read, “WU: “We had individual conversations with everyone so people understand that it was truly just an honest mistake that went out in typing the email field.”

The Fox News anchor shared more details about the same on his official website where he claimed the Boston Mayor “is in hot water” after an invitation for an ‘Electeds of Color’ holiday party went viral. In the article, it was also stated that Boston City Council is comprised of six minority and seven White members.

Hannity shared more details from The New York Post which additionally added that all of the white members of the Boston City Council had their invitations rescinded about 15 minutes after the original email was sent.

Wu also told reporters, “We had individual conversations with everyone so people understand that it was truly just an honest mistake that went out in typing the email field.”

Michelle Wu faces backlash on social media

After Fox News anchor Sean Hannity shared his report, the internet shared their thoughts on Michelle Wu following the “honest mistake” and the response was largely negative.

One social media user said, “The mistake was that they elected you mayor,” while another wrote, “The lies. The excuses. I'm having none of it.”



 



 

“Liar,” wrote one user, while another commented, “They say it was a mistake when they get caught.”



 



 

Wu continued to face backlash as one user tweeted, “It’s disgusting,” while another said, “She’s a phony and a liar.”
